Hi barbara,

You can be sure of our prayers. In the UK and in Europe, they have found that fitting a tight 'cap' filled with ice over the head helps reduce the hair loss. It slows the blood circulation to the scalp and that prevents the poisoning of the hair follicles - or so they say. You might want to ask about this.

I honestly feel with all the fatigue and the nausea, the hair loss might be minor. It's a vanity thing, but ..... Thank you for your prayers.

Barbara, your poem is written very well! Have you ever seen the movie 'The blue butterfly'? It's a true story about a young boy with cancer who believes if he captures a blue morph butterfly his cancer will be cured. The doctors give him only weeks to live, so his mom takes him to South America where he catches a blue butterfly.
In the 'special features' they interview him and he is a grown man now and has been in remission for many years.
The doctors say they have no explanation for how this could happen except the power of the mind to believe in something so strongly that the body responded.
So hold onto your faith and BELIEVE you're going to come through this.
You have shown tremendous strength in your writing, not to mention talent, now just go and conquer this beast with the knowledge that sooo many people stand behind you armed with prayers and heartfelt best wishes. Pearl

Victory will be yours if you keep a positive attitude! I have much experience observing my first wife's battle with breast cancer as well as my dad and father in law's battle with colon cancer. Is AC a new treatment? The best of luck, my dear friend... great big hugs, Jack xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I didn't realise you wrote poetry. This is a very deep and personal poem. You convey your fears well. I hope everything goes ok for you. x

I don't usually write poetry. I think this is my 5 poem. The first two were romance, and the last three were about cancer. The first two cancer ones where tacked onto an essay.

This is fabulous. It says so much within the confines of a short poem. This is a simple piece, but perfectly written. I enjoyed reading it and do pray for your complete, healthy recovery~always, JaCherie!

Thank for sharing this work, Barbara. I have a grandfather who has just finished undergoing Chemo treatments, and your words are extremely uplifting. God bless you in your treatments in the upcoming weeks. Take care.

This is a fine free verse sharing of the process, dear. With a powerful impact in these lines-

Robbing me of dignity
Replacing it with fatigue

Thank you for your encouragement. When I start falling in faith, my friends give me strength and their prayers help me remember who gives me full strength.

This is an honest, hard-hitting poem that tells it like it is, yet closes on a positive note of victory. Please know that my prayers are with you as your chemo begins today. (I remember a poem I read a long time ago that comes to mind in times like this: "For perhaps the dreaded future is less bitter than I think; the Lord may sweeten the waters before I stoop to drink." May the Lord indeed sweeten your waters. My best to you, Jeanie Mercer
