I stood as an outsider and watched a sister fight an unwinable battle with the big C word... This poem shows and touches the feelings that one might have when experiencing such sadness... I wish you all the best of luck and will pray for you to pull through... Your a teacher... My favorite people in the world are mothers and teachers, they are the only people that truly know the battles with raising children... Well done on an amazing piece of poetry... Thanks for the great read.

Thanks G :)

God bless you Barbara, and he has. Nothing is impossible with God. The poem is very expressive and yes, you are a romance writer, but this poem is bright with love, beauty and faith. Many blessings and prayers for you.

Barbara, I am wishing you the best. That this time will pass quickly and that you emerge on the other side safe and sound. I think of you and send you my prayers. A posititive attitude is a great healer.

Barbara, this is such sad news. It definitely will be hard to cope with, and do you have to work as usual? I know I would have to, since I am divorced and faced with a life sentence of mortgage and car payments.

One day at a time. These are the words, my mother kept repeating to my dad when he was dying of cancer. They couldn't do a thing for him. It had already gone to his liver. Three months he lived, then died alone. We weren't there for him because we thought he would last longer, and we all had to work.

I'm glad you have friends and family by you at this most unfortunate time. I will wait for your next post. I hope it will be good news. My heart goes out to you, dear writing friend. Hugs, and prayers. Lois

Yes, I have to work. My doctor says as long as I am careful and take one day at a time, I'll be fine. I also have a great first grade team that is willing to pick up where I have to take it easy. I appreciate your prayers.

Barbara,

Your author notes are grim, but that's how it is. My wife and I hope you can keep your good humor through this necessary ordeal, and that no further complications develop. Most of all, we hope that the treatment is successful. May your hair grow back to a thicker lustrous brown, and may you outlive your doctor.

I appreciated this poem and couldn't find anything to criticize.

Dave
