I enjoyed this little story so much. Once I started reading it carried me through to the end. You have painted great characters in the dog and the man.

Hey there, I was caught up in this story from the very first. Sad at first, but gradually that little hint of hope slipped in. Great descriptions throughout. These two had both had cold, dark winter nights - I think often the beginning of a bonding of one to another. Nice one,Suse!LOL...Susan

Hi Susan! Thank you! I'm happy you liked this. It was a bit long, but I had some wanting to know about the left behind dog. I thought of poor Spook too, as I wrote this. And a couple of the dogs we have taken in. Who knows, what they have to go thru, being unwanted and alone. Take care Susan! Luv, Susan

Lniliness and the need for a companion has brought about many strange relationships. This is very welly wrltten with a smooth flow of words.

Great story to continue the one about the old woman. I like a story that gives to all character. Very good storytelling. I love the picture. Anne 1204

Susan there is always so much of yourself in your stories. That is where the truth lies. This is an extension of a story you wrote a couple of days ago. I'm glad you went back and saved the dog. Writing from the dog/wolf's perspective is tricky and you did a great job.
Just two nits: "mistress" doesn't sound right. Later he thinks of her as the "human", that sounds earthier to me.
This one is probably stupid, but his longing for "dog" food
also made me a little uncomfortable. Listen, you probably know how to think like a cross better than I do, still I thought I'd mention. All that said, this is good follow up on the wolf's story, and a good chance to write a new one---the man's story.
I hope I made some sense. Lee

Wow! I am so sorry I didn't read your story sooner. I do not have six stars left or I would've rated you with six. What a wonderful story. I love wolves, have pictures of them all over the house. I also had a wolf hybrid until he died a couple of years ago. He was the best dog I've ever had.

Your story was very touching. I will be looking for more from you.

Wow, thank you so much! If you would like, read the first part of this, "The End Of The Lane"? I love wolves too, and always wanted a hybrid. I am sorry yours is gone. I hope you have lots of photos to remember him by? ANd thank you for the thought of a six. That is very kind of you! When I am feeling better I will read some of your work too! ") Susan

This is an excellent little story. I love animal stories with happy endings. The dog in this crossbreed was stronger than the wolf in the end. Your story telling skills amaze me. I always enjoy them.

Hi Beth, thank you so much! I am told I need dialogue, but sometimes, well, a lot, I just tell too much. But that's me, I guess. I am so glad you enjoy it tho. Blessings to you and yours my friend. Luv, Susan

I wish I had a six left for this story. It deserves one. I really enjoyed the story, especially the fact it had a happy ending. My family swears I love anything that furry and has four feet and a tail.

") Well, bless your heart, I do remember that you said too, that they will not allow you in a room full of free kittens or puppies! I'm that way, it's just impossible to resist the cuteness...but they grow up all to quickly. I am happy you love pets. I do too. This story was because Judian James was so sad at the ending of the first half of this. She too, loves animals and was worried about the old dog being left behind. Thank you Barbara...it's great to hear from you! I would like to PM you here in a minute if that's okay? Susan
