Mystery Writer,
your fiction story is very well written. In a minimum amount of words you managed to establish a setting, conflict and resolution. What a sad story. Great narrative and very good descriptive writing. You paint a sad picture in the reader head of a woman losing her husband in the line of serving his Country. Your story has a touch of reality. This line was moving; "The tiny fool of their unborn baby jabbed her." Your story is an excellent entry in the Life Without the Letter 'S' writing prompt contest. I wish you good luck in the contest.

Okay, rip my heart out... What a poignant story you told in so few words. A story with so few words is challenge enough but to do it without the use of the letter 's' is quite remarkable. Well done. Good luck in the contest.

    Minglement,

Hope your heart has mended...I have a tendency to write tear jerkers, but I hope you will remain a fan. Thankyou for all your kindness and best wishes. Smiles to you, Carol

Atear-jerker is not necessarily a bad thing. One of the reasons we write is to make people feel - happy, sad, pain, joy, inspiration - all are valid. Thanks for sharing. Marcia

I don't know whether to say this is beautifully sad or sadly beautiful. It has much emotion in such a few words. You did a great job in creating a good writing prompt entry without an "S".

sadness remorse grieves these are the s words that this short write invokes in mind that you did not use here, great powerful write that stayed in the guidelines but still portrayed a great sadness.

Hi Mystery Writer,

This piece of micro fiction, further constrained by the required absence of the letter "s" is really excellent. You stayed under the word limit, did not include any "esses", and managed somehow to pack interesting characters, p viable plot and strong emotion into your story- and last but not least- a satisfying ending. Bravo!
Best of luck in the contest.

Life comes full circle with the birth of the dead soldier's baby. This sad scenario will repeat itself throughout our country until the troops come home for good.

A wonderful write. Sad, heart touching too. And shares what some young women are going through. May God bless they and the children they carry. Thank you writer for bringing this before us. We need to support the ones our soldiers have been forced to be separated from. Blessings and grace to you too.
