Hi Barbara, I for one, like so many other people, send you loving thoughts of healing! I am not a lover of conventional medicine, but totally believe in alternative medicines! I have come across certain websites, concerning
cancer, that suggest it is a fungus! That said, any food(you are what you eat) that has anti-fungal properties, such as; any fruit that is subject to fungi, like grapes, any berries, apples etc, have anti-fungi properties that produce fungi destroying 'natural' chemicals. Got to be organic(no pesticides of any description, they are part of the problem!) They cleanse the body and act like antigens, which recognizes 'foreign substances' in the body, and induces an immune response. There are certain vegetables that do the same, again, any vegetable that is subject to fungi, such as; broccoli, garlic, carrots, beetroot, artichoke etc(organically produced), act as antitoxins that produce antibodies, and counteract toxins; the same as antigens!
I also know that bicarbonate of soda(sodium bicarbonate) is an excellent antigen that aids the immune system into recognizing and destroying 'foreign substances', in the body.
I know God doesn't make mistakes, but I feel a duty, out of His Love, to inform you what the medical industry doesn't want you to know; cancer can be desroyed, if you knew the natural remedies.
I sincerely wish you well with your treatment, But I do stress that nature will cure you; if you let her!
I hope that I have not over-stepped my mark, here, but I only want what's best for you Barbara; sincerely!
By the way, your poetry is first-class, and very positively
vibrant; well done!
I wish you peace and strength, may God's blessings be with you...Colin.

Thank you for your kindness. I happen to be a HUGE fruit eater, and through the years organic wasn't an option.

I know, 'they' make you pay for it(if you can find it!) Peace be with you...Colin.

Barbara,

I am very sorry to hear about your battle with cancer
and your upcoming surgery. Your piece was written with
transparency, faith and also skillfully. Your bit of
humor is good medicine and I'm happy to know you have
many people around you that love and care so much
about you.

I guess what I will do here, is reflect back to you
part of your poem that I feel was not only written
well but also has GIANT faith:

"Cancer cannot corrode my faith.
God promises to answer my prayers.

Cancer is a spawn of the Devil.
It cannot survive in God's Light."

Amen!
Linda

What a sad story. You write your feelings very well. In reading your story, it brought to mind many friends who have faced cancer and like you they faced it as positively as possible. So far, most are doing well. The treatment is difficult and I wish you luck and comfort. Your ending poem indicates that you know from where that comfort comes.
You say you are not a poet but you did an excellent job. Thanks for sharing.

Barbara - Thanks for telling us about your cancer. I think the poem you wrote is lovely. With God on your side you are a conqueror. It's nice to meet another sister in the Lord. Anyway, I almost fell over when you said you have a twenty four year old son. You don't look much older than that yourself. Kat

You are way too kind, my oldest son is 32. He's in Afghanistan right now, we have not told him about the cancer. He has already done 4 tours of Iraq. Thank you for your support and kindness.

This my friend, is beautiful from the first line to the last.... First of all, you are sharing what you are going through and helping others along the way.... Secondly, you are showing me as a Christian, that we are not exempt from life's situations, but we can face them head-on with faith... You inspire me to the fullest, and I betcha your Father in Heaven is very proud... I will be praying for you! Bryan

Sensational. Heartfelt, courageous, and laughter in a dark time in her life. I have notihng but admiration for this author and her work. Having lost my mother to cancer at 19, I know the devastating loss it leaves in a family's lives. Thank you for sharing your warmth, your light, and your spirit in this telling. My upmost hopes for your recovery as you go down this path.

I appreciate the lines in your poem and you are a poet. Poetry means different things to different people. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I was watching Dr. Oz the other day and on his program he told the top five cancer fighting foods. I only remember four and they are strawberries, flounder, artichoke, and broccoli. He said we should put artichoke in our salads everyday because it was number one at fighting cancer. I believe if you get on his website there will be more information. The program was on last Friday. I hope this helps a little with giving you more tools to fight with. Lots of love, ann

You are welcome. I just remembered the fifth thing. It's tomatoes. But I believe Dr. Oz said it's better if they are in a sauce. So if you eat a spoonful of tomato sauce everyday like you put in spagetti that would be the most beneficial. Isn't that cool? Also, he said do not eat anything with nitrates. They are like poison. You find them in processed meats like bacon, ham, hot dogs, etc. I hope this helps a little. :) ann

I eat tomatoes like they are candy, for real. I love the grape tomatoes and leave a container on the counter and eat them throughout the day.
