Good Morning Barbara. As you know, I am on the poet side and you the prose, so it's rarely that we review each other's work, but I am here now due to your title. I remember reviewing you before your July proceedure, so I am grateful for the update. My oldest son (I too raised all boys!)rides in the PanMass Challenge every year to find cancer's cure. He rides for you ... you will beat this thing and BRAVO for your positivity and humor. Your poem was perfect. Keep writing and God bless you.

I hope you and jshep have connected. She's been writing about her battle for over a year. You could give each other wonderful support.

We just connected yesterday through her reviewing my piece. We did not know each other until then.

My nan had breast cancer last year, it was a really terrifying moment when we found out.Because of this I donated £10 at school for breast cancer research which I feel very happy about. She's all better now as she had the cancer removed in the early days just like you did, I'm sure you'll get through it, wishing you the best of luck, Jakeyboy!! :)

Oh Barbara, I didn't know about this and I'm so sorry you have to endure this. This is a beautifully written essay. Cancer isn't the monster it once was but I can imagine what it must be like to face this diagnosis. Just this week, there was so much good news about cancer. You have a very positive attitude. I loved your poem. A good attitude and positive thoughts are the best thing you could have going for you. I'll keep you in my prayers and I know everything is going to work out for you. Have patience, my friend.

You're essay is inspirational, Barbara, and I am certain it will help many people in a similar situation.
I was reading an article on survival just recently and apparently one of the deciding factors for those who survive is a positive attitude. Fight, fight, fight, fight fight, and when you feel too tired to fight any more, let others do the fighting for you.
A strong faith is also one of the characteristics quoted for survivers and you certainly demonstrate that.
So many people will be bringing you before the Throne of Grace worldwide. Just imagine 24 hour prayer cover!!!!
Love to you, dear Barbara.

Oh Barbara, this is poignant, inspiring adn beautiful. I love your positive spirit and faith in both God's love and the power of prayers from all your friends around the world---and am joining in the celestial chorus with prayers offered from India with jasmine incense to carry them skyward and waft on oceanic breezes till they reach you.

Thank you for sharing your update and the fins poetic couplets with potent, positive affirmations.

This line is poignant and made my eyes moist

Through prayers, well wishes, and blessings of my friends and family the strength found me.

Prayers and tons of Loving, healing LIGHT,
rd

I think we all have had someone in our lives that have been diagnosed with cancer. My mother, God love her, has breast cancer. They managed to catch it early and she fortunately stayed cancer free for the rest of her life, nearly 25 years. A very dear friend of my wife is now going through a great ordeal with her breast cancer. Its been two years of ups and downs, two surgeries and several bouts of chemo. But nothing can take away her spirit. Be strong, stay strong mentally and emotionally. Be with God. Ray aka Krylon

Barbara, my prayers are with you, my friend. Your journey ahead will be faced with strength and determination, and your faith. Your story is well written and emotional, honest and yet hopeful. I too, agree with Hubert H. Humphries philosophy. And knowing your story and your strong sense of self, you have an abundance of both - friendship and love.
Add another continent to your list, my friend. Australia, too, is praying for you, and supporting you.
Warmest regards and blessings,
Marijke

Your strong heart going into this surgery is going to be an invaluable asset. I learned a long time ago not to wonder why such bad things happen to good people. The answer comes as time passes: to make them better, and the world around them a more beautiful place because of them.
