Susan, this is another great writing which I'm sure will be a strong contender in this contest. In this short narrative you manage to endear both characters to the reader while creating a touching storyline. Very well done, my friend. Good luck in the contest. Amarillys

I enjoyed reading this story very much. It funny the way man and boy played around on the price of the truck. Is the same way women do at yard sales yet men some men refuse to stopped at them.
I love how you express the relationship between the old man and the truck

An excellent and well scripted story. You have spun a nice yarn around the old truck and the old man. The way you narrated the story deserves special praise. Most of your readers would have exchanged their cars for new once or twice. They all would empathise with the story and the machine. Old is gold. It was not for nothing this adage was coined.

Very nicely written. I don't normally read anything but poetry so i'm venturing on to new ground, I loved the look of the old truck in your image, it drew me in.
You really know how to keep the reader on their toes, it sounded like the old man was a tough customer to haggle with, but what a classic vehicle to purchase, it's no wonder he found it hard to part with especially with it's sentimental value attached.
A wonderful story well thought-out, and for me anyway, eye catching presentation.
A very creative story, if it's one you have made up then you have hidden talents all over the place, good for you and thanks for sharing such a thought provoking read.
Have a wonderful week...Rudy

I did have a truck like this, but the story is just how I thought it would be. We sold ours to a collector who was to restore both of them. We had an F-1 and an F-100...both ran too. but were rusty as all get out! Thank you Rudy! I love this review. It's very encouraging and helpful...and I'm tickled you liked this! ") Susan

Cars are a sticky business when sentimentality gets in the deal. The older generation have ties to their cars that maybe some of us younger people do not understand. But, many younger people can get attached to their cars too. You showed us a lot here. Cody

Hi Cody!! Thanks! It's great to hear from a young person!! I hope you will find a special car or truck sometime! We have had several that I wish we had kept...one was a vintage '69 Mustang, one of 500 built that year, a special edition Cobra Jet...now worth over 190K...we sold it in 1975 for 750.00! "( and have had many others that are now valuable! We could have bought a fancy estate with all the money from them! ") But we didn't know what they would be worth. So, I just write about them! Thank you for this great review! I am very happy to hear from you!! Susan
