There is lot of imagination here, internal rhyme that confers glamor to your poem and an original style too. "Emerald hopes" is such a great metaphor.

The imagery next to the image make this "purple custard" piece magnificent. I enjoyed reading this piece of poetic merriment, however, I don't think I'd want to see the fairies flit and twitter cause then people would say I was on the crack you spoke of :) LOL. Nicely written, with creative voice and structure. Good luck in the contest.

Poetic justice that your poem inspired by him, and his poem inspired by you are both up for poem of the month. Loved this for its Xylokian quality, though I'm sure a lot of your poetry is equally awesome :-)
Anyway, this almost seemed like a song (or a rap), and I found myself smiling and be-bopping my head to the awesome images. Who doesn't love surfin cosmic dust?

Hi Becca,
Yes, I thought it funny when I saw Xy's poem (directly underneath mine on the listing) for Poem of the Month.
I am very chuffed that it made you smile!
Thank you so much for reviewing - Cally :)))
Comment from JeJo
Great rhymes and alliteration in this wonderful free-verse about letting go and freeing yourself to the world of possibilities. My absolute favorite lines were these:
"seeped through in a splendiferous splash
of star spangled wonderment" - wonderful alliteration and descriptive wording
Very creative concept of 'purple custard'
I thoroughly enjoyed your free-vLovely presentation as well. Good luck in the contest. All the best, JeJo

Hi JeJo,
thanks so much for reviewing!
I think my fave poetic style to write has to be free verse with occasional rhymes and alliteration, I think it makes it flow better.
Thanks for the luck wishes too!
Have a good weekend - Cally :)))
Comment from Warren Rodgers
Wow , what a wonderfully imaginative piece you have penned. Lots of imagery sweeps the reader away with verses like "splendiferous splash of star spangled wonderment" and "blue slipstream of impossible improbability". Superb writing I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Good luck to you in the contest. Best regards, Warren

What a nice plug for Xylok who is the BEST!! Now to your piece ... very well done. Clever beginning all serious and skilled and then, bam, purple custard invades the senses!
A very enjoyable piece. The only thing I might change, would be the title so the "purple custard" bit is totally unexpected for even more of a shock value! Just a thought
No matter what, I loved it and am pleased I found your work today!
