As comets sprinkle cosmic dust
nice consonance
from Saturn's rings to Orion's belt,
clever personifications
I wonder deep within my beating heart
about the great inspirer
of our universe.
what a great description of God.
The contemplation
of our creation
is truly overwhelming!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! INDEED!
For in each and every one of us
he planted just one spark,
which grows to fuel
imaginations so wild
with flaming curiosity
that above part is my favorite. very cool thought.
So, from pixie feet to solar eclipse,
my brain will soar and dive
AWESOME
as through the eyes of condors I shall see
the mountain tips of Andes ice,
beautiful imagery
and with the fins of dolphins
I shall feel the rush of swell and squall,
that is my second favorite line! love the rush of it as well as the imagery.
as lusts of sirens fill my veins
and might of Titan's rage
cool.
and as my inner senses feed
upon the wonders that I feel,
that is a super line right there too. inner senses, not the five usual empirical ones, feeding on wonder...that is sooooo very neat the way you put that...what all that implies.
I always shall remain in awe
of my amazing muse.
and well said, though the last line said that already rendering it somewhat superfluous, it brings it around home clearly for sure. this poem is a trip from the get to the stopper period at the end and it has some of the best lines ive read in a very long time. keep that noggin leaking. the art is stellar too btw.

Hi Xy,
thanks so much for reviewing, but this is NOT the poem I meant! I have not posted it yet - won't post 'till midnight my time, which is about 7pm your time - it's called "Purple Custard" and it's got some author's notes dedicated to you - check it out when you have the time!
But thank so much for reviewing this one and I'm glad you liked!
Sorry about the confusion, I feel bad now!
Take care - Cally :)))

Poet,
your poem for the writing prompt contest is creative and very well written. Gorgeous art work and color presentation. Your words paint a picture in the readers head. Cool title 'The Great Inspirer.' I especially enjoyed the lines;

Your poem is an excellent entry in the writing prompt contest. Good luck in the voting booth. It was a pleasure reading and reviewing your free verse.

Its hard not to be inspired when the Lord has hung our world in space on nothing, delicately balanced on the correct degree of axis, and we, who are we but his workmanship created in Christ Jesus, made forever in his image.
I like the fact that you represent man as having a curious mind, that explores the wonders far and deep. And how you tied up that idea with our inner voice, our soul perhaps? Indeed there is no better muse.

This poem is filled to the brim with rich imagery and movement. In this poem, you enter into the very things you write about; you become the condor and the dolphin. Your muse therefore is your inner eye, your soul. Great job. Sincerely, Hector

Hi Hector,
thank you so much for your insightful review, I am glad you noticed that I was writing about becoming the things you see, this is after all how we create great characterisations! Thanks again - Cally :)))

I admire the epic sweep of your free verse, soaring and dipping like a ship sailing on an ocean of creativity. Good imagery of the power of imagination. I liked in particular your lines, "and with the fins of dolphins / I shall feel the rush of swell and squall".
I am in wholehearted agreement with your suggestion that each of us has been gifted with the spark of Divine creativity.
I spotted one spag: "Ande's" should be written "Andes."
Good luck in the contest.

This poem is inspiring in its own right--and it's well-written, too. Although many others can rightfully claim the same muse, you have elevated your free-verse ode far above hackneyed phrasing and surface-level sentiments. Breathtaking.

simply beautiful, i've often wondered all the same, and gone on many inner like voyages, this poem says to me, that we are so much more, than we ourselves can ever know, really great.

Very nice poem. What a wonderful muse. I thought it was well written and flowed nicely. I could feel inspiration in this poem. It's a mystery how it all works...why somethings inspire us. I love to get inspired. Great job and good luck.
