This is a beautiful and heartbreaking poem. I can feel the love of a fifty year relationship in every line. The loss is so heartfelt that the reader is moved.

Your balnk verse entry is superb! I am no expert for sure on this form, but I do know that I opted to not review a couple entries. I liked this one and I give you all kinds of credit for attempting this form with great success!
I especially liked the following lines:
"Now fifty years of happiness will end
When very soon you'll take your final breath"
Once again, you are able to put yourself into the
'shoes' of another and write a stellar poem.

Your balnk verse entry is superb! I am no expert for sure on this form, but I do know that I opted to not review a couple entries. I liked this one and I give you all kinds of credit for attempting this form with great success!

your blank verse is poignant, profound and eloquently written. Beautiful art work of Angelheart's you've used. Your blank verse is a fantastic entry in the blank verse III contest. Excellent meter, wonderful narrative, vivid imagery and very descriptive writing. I especially enjoyed the lines:
I look at you and see your pretty face
Ravaged with pain, I can't be selfish now
Although I've asked for miracles each day
I realise I will have to let you go
So fly, sweetheart, don't worry about me
Your presence and your love pervades my soul
I know we'll meet again at heaven's gate
Until that day I'll live with memories
You squeeze my hand to bid a fond farewell
Then slowly you let out a gentle sigh
Your face relaxes, all the pain now gone
Your spirit stays to help me through the dark
Your poem is so sad for me about the narrator accepting the fact that their love of 50 years is dying. Such a touch poem. Cleaver use of alliteration and metaphor. Good luck in the contest. It was my pleasure reading your poem titled 'Fly Free My Love.'
