Well done! So poetically have you woven the thought of finality, inevitability, insignificance, death. What an awesome thought to know that the end is near and resolve that whatever one's status in life may be, there is something far more powerful, more certain and nothing can change it. I especially love the last lines --
And when the descent does come,
we'll gently drift and wander.
Feathers come to rest
upon the silent floor.
Ah, I do believe,
our graves at last.
This is an awesomely powerful write, my friend. Thank you for sharing. geo

Victor, you are right, we are all so insignificant among the vastness, and yet, we are all so individually important. I enjoyed this free flowing, free verse poem, and metaphore with Titanic and who we are.
Warmest regards, Marijke

This is a great poem which tell us about fate and the emotions felt when someone knows about the proximity of death. It's very well written!
Congratulations!

Your poem conveys that heavy wistfulness that always accompanies thoughts of the Titanic for me. That whole last stanza is awesome. Well said, my friend. Well done. Mary

I like this because...A very visual and powerful piece of writing here about that great ship. Your poem has what I think is a deathly sorrow about it somewhat like a lament, these people in your piece knew they were going to their grave an waited for it to happen. This is a heart wrenching poem with impeccable wording and emotions, and one I found to be most creative.

I find your descriptive word of lament to be spot on although I don't think it ever occurred to me. Nice review and I thank you.

The opening is very epic and vivid, brings to mind Moby Dick.
Interesting use of literary language "yonder, thou, thee, repast" it gives the poem a period feel.
The theme of the poem is serious, but the tone of the poem is not grave or negative.
Overall nice read.

Hi Victor,
I read your poem twice to understand it better.
It is well written and has very good imagery in each verse.
I saw "Titanic" the movie and I realize that this is not written to tell about that. I see some other reviewers have thought this was the case.
Although there are many simularities to the "Titanic" ship that sunk with over 200 drowinings, I thought it was very good example of how people would be feeling knowing that there life was comin to the end and they would probably be going down with the ship, excuse the pun. There was absolute fear among those people on the "Titanic"
The picture you have chosen to accompany this poem couldn't be more perfect. I looks just like how the "Titanic" would have looked. Very Good Love Beauty

This is a wonderful poetic version of such a tragic event. I like your wording too, seems more old-fashioned. Thank you for sharing this with us and keep it up!
