victortouche,

You write well of this deadly tragedy.

Share wine and song together.

And the description of the sinking:

Feathers come to rest

upon the silent floor.

Well done.

Exceptional titanic tribute you have written here. Your words flow together like a winding river. There is excellent description within your words, and the rhythym and rhyme make this majestic. beautifully written, Kathy58

This sentiment reminds me of the band that continued playing onboard as the ship sank. Acceptance of fate is a powerful theme, and you've managed to do it justice here. Thanks for sharing this powerful piece!

Easy to see why this was recognized. It has a respectful dignity about it, difficult to maintain while dealing with immense catastrophes (or anything provoking strong emotion). You summarized beautifully: 'our graves at last;--this is a poem I can see being analyzed 100 years from now. Mega kudos! later and God bless, shy

Very well done. This poem is well written and conveys a very powerful message regarding one's fate and the small part we all play in the grander picture. Very well done...Gideon

Read through this several times, very much enjoyed the layers of meaning.
These lines are my faves:
Turn and face your past
linger enough to cast
light across its shadows.
Well done!
Nice choice of artwork as well.

Comment on author notes: yes insignificant among the vastness until we realize that God, in His infinite wisdom, provided a means of ultimate significance. Jesus Christ died, took our place, paid the penalty, that we might live forever. That is enough to make me shudder and rejoice simultaneously. And surely that means, you and I are worth the price. Else why would He have paid?

See? Took your words to heart!
Say what you mean at last.

If you have time and inclination, please stop by and see my latest post. I've been away from FS for awhile, working on my ms. Got it turned in to the writing coach, can't wait to see what she says and helps me in my quest for publication! Would welcome your comments! Poets have such a way of wringing meaning out of EACH WORD - I admire you!!!

Keep writing!

This is a very beautifully written tribute to the Titanic. Your poem flows smoothly and was easy and fun to read. I didn't find any fault with it. Even the artwork you chose was very good.

This is hauntingly beautiful. I remember the movie scenes where they were all there knowing the ship was sinking, and the band leader kept the songs playing until they couldn't play anymore. I know that was just a guess via the writer as to what happened but it was a heartwrenching scene. This poem reminds me of that. We do not know what will happen in the next second let alone the next day. Great work. Leigh Ann

You have given us a well written courageous look at staring death in the face. You have also touched on the insignificance of an individuals accomplishments when faced with death.

Oh Victor you are so welcome my friend. Sorry for the late reply. I don't get on much these days. The site is rather small. Lol. You are a delight and I love your work. In my humble opinion you are one of the best writers on this site. Keep writing.
