Hi Bob! Fun post inviting your readers to join with you in thinking creatively. Here's what I would offer on an instantaneous first blush: You and your wife entered the Twilight Zone when you lost track of time and consequently moved to a new time zone three hours ahead but also with the spare five minutes so that you had the opportunity to go Back to the Future....Hugs, Sue

An interesting write.

I have no explanation other than to say that every now and then my computer has been off on the time for no apparent reason ... then it "goes back" to normal.

As for your wife's watch mirroring your computer time ... all that I can offer is that you have been married a long time so maybe your internal clocks are in sync and this affects your personal time pieces/ or you really did slip into the Twilight Zone. LOL

Having spent considerable time in La La Land, I can only say, if this is true it is truly strange. Don't have the slightest idea of what happened but definitely provided you with a terrific story to write. Don't throw out either the watch or laptop and definitely don't check into the booby hatch, I've been there and scary as it sounds, you'll blend right in. Great story and definitely makes you wonder....

Hello my friend---That's an odd occurrence. A coincidence, [perhaps? Or maybe you were beamed up be aliens but forgot it? LOL

NO answers for you---but I can attest you are not crazy.

Some spags or suggestions--

*That clock showed that it was in fact 5:00 PM.

Two THATs in one sentence is a bit much. i think the second one is not needed.

*I returned to the table and told my wife, (")Theirs says 5:00? How can that be?"

*Why was it,(no ,) my computer and my wife's watch were the only two timepieces that showed 2:05 PM?

As I know you'll fix the typos and the pother is a matter of style, no stars deducted.

Lots of Love,
rd

PS
Doo de doo doo.....twilight zone theme echoes in the background.

Hmm, the Universe had 3 dimensions of space and 1 dimension of time and there were experiments that revealed that time slowed down at higher speeds.
Perhaps You & your wife were beamed into hyperspace and later returned. Neither of you would have age and she would have her watch on, but you would have needed your laptop.
Are you on a secret alien mission where beings from another planet would need the files on the pc?
(check your cache)
If not, then your wife used your laptop to set her watch and you have your laptop clock on the wrong time zone.
but the first answer sounds cooler : )

Well, I don't have a clue what really happened but at least the two of you were on the same time. And it makes a great story starter. Maybe your muse was trying to tell you some thing! A story of fantasy? sci-fi? time travel?

Well, how strange is that!
I've always kept an open
mind to everything, but have
no idea what's happened here, Bob.

behind the coffee counter.(")
(")Theirs says 5:00? - why question-mark when not a question.

I bet you will get some very interesting answers to this that could make for good story oppertunities! Have a wonderful day, Bob! Dana

Hi Bob,

According to Terry Pratchett, a collection of books bend the time/space continuum. It creates something called "L-space" in which all libraries and book collections are connected.

You were in Barnes and Noble... Need I say more?

Hey, Patrick...How are you? Thanks for the review....problem with your theory....What about everybody elses time that showed correct time? Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo . LOL
reply by Patrick G Cox on 23-May-2010
Easilu explained - L-space/time is also affected by activity, so. you sat in a pocket of time stasis, while those around you were entering and leaving various pockets of space/time that were either at the same loci, or in the past to present phase or the present to future or even present/past/future loops....

Simple - just believe that all those books, magical or not, warp space/time! In Pratchett's multiverse it is possible to enter a library in one age/period, visit the library in Alexandria at its height, and the British Library or Library of Congress without leaving the original - and return at the time you left! My theory is that you must have gone time travelling inadvertanty.

I'm still trying to settle and get writing again, probably in the next week or so - my study is now almost ready and I'm tying up the last bits and bobs after moving to Germany.

You need to search in your comings and goings as to how those numbers relate to your life. There is a reason for each and every occurrence in this reality of ours. You just need to keep in mind those numbers and an answer will arrive eventuality... John
