Mastery,

Digitally, 2s and 5s look similar enough to be mis-identified, especially when they are small and both parties were distracted with other tasks. Sorry, no mystery there. No check-in time at the Booby Hatch, either.
Interesting question though.

I'm not sure why we're rating a question, but here goes a five.

Bob, machines mystify me. I have no blooming idea why your computer and her watch would be the only timepieces showing the exact same wrong time unless perhaps she set her watch by your computer??? It certainly sounds like the Twilight Zone to me other than that. Brooke

Nope...that never happened...that's why it's so weird, huh? Thanks, Brooke. Bob

Bob I agree this would make a wonder opening to a story. Time travel - out of body experience - or leaving the bookstore and finding out something strange had taken place during your lost three hours. Interesting indeed.

Bob,
That is quite remarkable! I've never heard of this happening before and so I'm afraid I haven't anything brilliant to offer as a possible explanation! Keep me posted should you figure it out!
PS: Is there a real place that hatches boobies? My sister would benefit from a visit!
Thanks for sharing this with me.

Whoa!
That IS a VERY strange occurance. THe only thing I can think of is that you both were suppose to be at Barnes and Noble for that time period. Maybe if you had left earlier you might have been in an accident.

Let me tell you a story that happened to me. I was coming home from the dentist and thought I'd pick up a pumpkin for Halloween. ON the way to get the pumpkin a strong feeling came over me not to go. The feeling was so strong I listened to it and went directly home. THe problem was, when I pulled in the driveway I thought I was being ridiculous. I didn't even turn the engine off and took off to get my pumpkin. Geuss what? I was involved in a car accident one mile from my house. No injuries except to the car, but I never would have been in that accident if I had listened to that voice!

I think the same kind of thing happened to you and your wife, but in a different way. They say God works in mysterious ways and your situation definately fits in that area.

It's funny that your note came to me when it did, because it drew me to your portfolio to read this particular story. How wierd is that? We both exchanged mysterious happenings that may have been for the same reason. I'm glad nothing happened to you (as far as an accident is concerned). I thnk I was suppose to read this and share my thoughts with you.

Don't throw those watches away they may have saved your life.

Thanks for sharing this very interesting piece
Helvi :o)

Okay, so I was thinking, this is an interesting story and then when I read that it happened to you and your wife and the hair on my arms rose, lol. Don't know what to tell you, Bob, just sometimes life is by far much stranger than fiction. I read this to my husband and his thoughts are that your wife's watch stopped and you inadvertantly switched the numbers when you read them 2:05 - 5:02. Who knows Bob, but it made for an interesting read!

Hi Mastery, I looked at the first page of responses, so know of your daughter's death about one year ago. What time did she die? I would be inclined to take it as a message.

Hi Bob. I've returned from my travels. All I can think of, is that your wife set her watch to your laptop time, which we all know was incorrect, perhaps due to a power outage during the night??? Bizarre for sure!

Bizarre yes. She never looks at my laptop...and we have had no power outages which wouldn't explain her watch anyway....LOl...thanks much, Judian....Bob

Oh, of course the power outage wouldn't affect her watch ... hmmmmm ...

Hi Bob,

Weird. perhaps your wife adjusted her watch to the time on your lap top, not realising it was wrong... but then laptops update thier time automatically and are rarely wrong. Terry Pratchett has a theory that books warp the space-time continuum, especially when kept together, lol.

Nice short piece. nice mystery.

My wife never looks at my puter and heretofore never had a problem with her watch losing time or anything...In fact she set the time that day to the real time and it has kept time perfectly snce...LOl...Thanks for your input though...Bob
