I really like this puente you've created. Did the contest require you to use this photo as inspiration. The only other puente entry I read used the same photo. Either way, I really like the concept you created of the tree relishing the way its roots and bark have been used to record history and literature throughout the ages. I wonder how he'd feel, though, in this computer age? Relieved that he might not be cut down or sad that he won't partake in this experience? Consistent rhyme and meter. Best of luck in the contest!

Glad you enjoyed this Puente poem, DrCarter.
Yes, the contest does require that we use the artwork provided...so, it will be interesting to see what the other entries will produce. That's an interesting idea to contemplate how the talking tree would feel about its role in the computer age. hmmm I'll have to think about that one, and that topic would be interesting to explore and worth writing something about.
Thanks for the wonderful review. Appreciate all your comments ...;0)

Very lovely poem! Very well written with good rhythm and flow. Descriptive comparison of our roots to the roots of a tree.. both having stories to tell and histories. I really enjoyed this one. Thanks for sharing. Betty

I like this - the content,
rhythm and rhyme, all excellent,
cleverly crafted as a Puente,
which is new to me -- rather
impressive.
Good luck with the contest, my friend.
Margaret.

Thanks, Margaret. Glad you enjoyed my efforts with this Puente poem. The rhythm was off a bit when you first read it. I've since made some changes so the poem flows smoother. Appreciate all your comments.... ;0) Art
ya know, for some reason I thought you had an entry in this contest and I was planning on reviewing it today...hmmmm, there must be another contest you're in ...

No, I'm not in it - it's the time, not enough hours in a day - I've just had
a try of writing a horror story, what a task, but managed to finish and poste it in time for the contest. I much prefer writing about nature any day. Margaret.

I enjoyed all those wonderful, original rhymes and the air of mystery that permeated this poem. You've done a creative job, using that photo as inspiration. Loved your opening rhyme. "gnome' and 'home'. Good stuff. Good luck in the contest.
