Wow, very nicely done, I like this, Brooke.
It is so lovely and moves ever so smoothly.
Thisnis especially grand:
or maybe you will see her sup
sweet nectar from a buttercup, Titania's ale.
Thank you for your creations.

Cast gentle gaze upon the night
and you shall see the dancing sprites;
with playful wings and laughing tongues
they zip and spin, gambol among the scattered light.
If you are good, and eat your tea
and gobble up your mash and peas,
then you can dance to fairies' time
and have the gayest urge to climb the dryad trees.
The dryad trees? That's where they live,
and where the fairy queen can give
her blessings to the children brave
who time to play with her kin save, I'm positive!
So little children, eat you greens,
or you'll grow up all thin and lean,
and fairies hate those skinny folk;
their beady eyes see only smoke, their minds are mean!

Do I really have to eat peas before I get to see fairies? I hate peas. LOL Thanks, Mike :-) Brooke

I read several times and each time enjoyed it more.It took my mind to the land
of make believe. No problems,no hurry,no worries. What good poetry should
accomplish. Very well written.
Keep up the good work. Frankeddy

Hi Pearl,
Thanks for the education on this lovely form. And you do it impeccably well! LOVELY verse! A delight to read.
Favorite stanza:
But mystic lands of creatures wee
remain impossibility
for those who cast a cynic's eye
and see not magic, but a lie, in mystery.
So very true, isn't it? (G)
And, sad, that so many "intelligent" humans ascribe to the belief that lack of evidence is evidence of lack.
Thanks for sharing,
Jan

Hi Brooke, I've been wandering midst your fields of flowers and fairies, and have almost become a believer. Beautiful pictures. I like the one of the fairy riding on the snail's back, though I wouldn't like to do it. Good job as always. I've just posted Secrets of the Secret Garden. You might like to read it. Blessings! You have such a way of
quenching the thirst for
lush words and the images
they paint. Your faeries are
always a delilght as is your
verse. Thank you for the smiles.

Oh, if we all could believe in fairies, at
least sometimes! A little wonder and imagination
never hurt anyone - I'll gladly share those
mystic lands in the field of flowers!

Hi Brooke,
I read this florette, and enjoyed it. Very easy to see the simple patch of flowers become a wonderland of magical things. It unfolded into a story. Twisted that I wanted to hear Vincent Price read it, but in a happier tone for him.
anyway, I enjoyed it, though florettes, for me, have a harder to follow pattern flow.

The florette is an interesting form. Many times they don't seem to flow well -- for me anyway, but this one has a lovely rhythm and I really enjoyed the story it tells.
A gentle lilt gives this flowery fairy land a magical and fun flair.
I believe! ;) Love this poem.

thank you, Nic. I think I've used the form three times now, and yes, while composing it that last part of the fourth line takes extra work to maintain a smooth flow. I've thrown out a bunch of first and second and third attempts. LOL Brooke
