It's genuine foreshadowing of a budding romance between steven and Leya. His ruminating to himself in denial of this only increases the certainty.
You deal in good drama and dialogue to set this up.

Why Peggy is so stern and , frankly, hateful to Leya seems unjustified.

Okay so NaNoWriMo totally blew me off my reviews and now I have to go back and read all the chapters that I've missed because I really love this story.

This is an excellent chapter; action packed, lots of fabulous character interaction and dialogue. The storyline remains strong and smooth and moves along at just the right pace.

Please tell me that Steven is going to slug Peggy in her stupid lying jealous trouble making face really soon.
