Red Lives In The Hood
A red cape and a lesson to learn....36 total reviews

That is a good remake of the story of Little Red Riding Hood. There seem to be quite a few dodgy characters living near little Red, but she seems to have been well warned.
Pity her grandma didn't learn the lesson quite so well.

My grandson encountered a situation recently that could have been big trouble. Lucky for us it didn't turn out that way. Made me stop and think about how we need to continue to remind our children over and over...they know, but they forget...Thanks for the wonderful review. Smiles, Carol

A very good modern day red riding hood. I particularly liked the part where the lady guessed her name and it was a robber at grandma's house. Not quite sure of the "bad guys" looking scary or doing something scary, but overall I enjoyed it.

Recently something happened to my grandson but fortunately he was lucky. It made me think about reminding little children of lessons learned...they need to be continually reinforced. Thank you for the kind review. Carol

This is a good reworking of a old story. It gets across a important moral in a simple manner. Very easy to read which is important in childrens fiction. Good work.

Thank you so much for the encouragement. Recently something happened to my grandson that luckily turned out okay. Got me to thinking about lessons other children need to have reinforced from time to time. Thanks for the review. Crol

Thanks for the encouragement. Recently something happened to my grandson that could have turned out terrible. Luckily it didn't, but it made me start thinking about writing lessons for our young children. Thanks for the review. Carol

I like your story.
Good dialogue.
Good descriptions.
Good balance between all of the elements.
Interesting.
Fun.
Entertaining.
One nit: 5th paragraph from the bottom: towered over top of Grandma, should it be towered over the top of Grandma? or towered over Grandma?
Good job.
Good luck in the contest.

This is a good lesson for children to learn. Especially now, there are a lot of dangers lurking our there and children need to be very cautious. You have used many of the ways predators use to entrap children. You have told the story in such a way children would enjoy reading it.

After a recent scare with my grandson, I wanted to write a few stories that might help others. For us everything turned out okay, but for others it doesn't. Thanks for the review. Carol

Nicely done. I was having a little trouble with all the encounters the little girl had but it makes sense from a modern fairy tale POV. Anyway I liked it and a sweet ending.

I wanted to show a young child how a stranger can approach them in many different ways...Probably too many in one neighborhood but I wasn't sure how else to work it in. A recent scare with my grandson (which luckily turned out okay) prompted me to write this. Thanks for the review. Carol

It's Tuesday Carol and midday here in the African Jungle, and you have a fairy tale for Jada to read. Now I want to go sleepies. But before I do - let me tell you what a wonderful story this was. Geez, you do have all kinds of nice ideas in your blonde head. Its a good lesson to all the little kids.
Well written - luv jada

I don't know how I got started on teaching lessons except that my grandson got himself in a spot recently...it could have been real bad...luckily it was not...Guess my mind started churning and thus the stories. Glad you enjoyed them. Carol

Hi Begin Again, I didn't get into this story at all, probably as it was more for children and I guess this type of writing is not my style but it flowed ok and it was constructed ok also. Well done.
