**********10 STAR WRITE
Oh, dear, BOB, you handled this so gracefully and with such dedication and skill, I found it hard to get to the end with so much admiration for you family and life, as well, as own and how quickly things change.

Such a beautiful write, in the context of things, from your meeting, its importance as well the past of homes, in which I identify.

God bless you all, dear friend.
After reading this it makes you understand and believe in the little things in life, as I have always said.

Bravo, my friend, Bravo.
My wishes to your family.

RG

Hello Bob,
Maybe we all wondered if Joey was your story, but this is a crushing blow I can't even fathom this kind of loss. The unwarranted months of "What ifs" that would follow this tragedy compounding the loss of your world, a burden I wouldn't wish on anyone. I am so very sorry these were both your stories, Bob,

Ron

Congratulations on your win. One's children can cause heartaches from time to time. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

I have no words....
I now understand how you can write with a deep emotional connect.
That top of the mountain must have been too chilly ,ragged full of sharp stones. There is unsaid grief too as I understand that you descended from that mountain top your separate ways..
but yet there was light at the end of the tunnel. your children and your wife must have helped you to come to terms with the great loss, guilt and remorse.
Father Harding's was a a kind of revelation to me.
If there is a rebirth who knows his soul would be near you.Or he would be twinkling at you from the heights of the milky way

Thanks for sharing.

I have tears in my eyes Bob. You are such a wonderful writer and when we look behing the curtain you have drawn ascoss your life I know why.
I don't know what is the answer, withhold their licence until they 21, would that do it? Could that help another family cope when their son is pronouced brain dead. This one has left me shaken, Bob. Sincerely Anne.

I am quite in awe of how you have coped with all of this. The way you grew up, the loss of your son. I am not even going to try and suggest I know how that must feel. I only have heard from others, the pain and loss stay. You and your wife have my deepest, and sincerest condolences, belated as they are.
You are incredibly strong. Your son was a good looking boy.
Blessing to both you and your wife

I am always amazed at the set of circumstances that can lead up to something unexpected and, in this case painfully tragic, happening. The tone of sadness permeates the piece as it should. The story has a beginning, middle, and end that flow seamlessly together and the speaker has a lifetime of sad events ending with this bitter experience. How much can one person bear is underscored in this story, yet the priest's comforting words give some sense of hope for the future.

I don't think there can be anything worse than losing a child, I know the depth of love one has for them, so the corresponding loss must be a very destructive, experience, to pull oneself out of the pit would be seemingly near impossible, I think your minister was wise. I don't think one would truly recover. My sister had to adopt out a little boy when very young, and later lost her 18 mth old son, who died in her arms, suffering from congenital liver failure, she had sought medical help in the US, it obviously failed, it was 12,000 miles from home, well done Bob, excellent biography, blessings, Roy

What a precious picture, Bob...I know losing Bobby must have left a huge hole in your heart and I understand how this time of year brings back a glimpse of that grief. I am actually working on a song right now about losing someone dear. Hugs for you, dear friend.

I read this yesterday, but was too overwhelmed to write a review. There is no way to say I understand because I have not had this horrible experience. I do. However, agree with the suggestion of your priest. Once the worst thing you could imagine happens, you will be able to handle anything.
Be blessed.
Elaine
