Vary touching, and for us timely verse. We are sorting through our loft space and the mass of items deposited there over circa 25 years. Toys and teenage flotsam feature amongst the chaos. In our case the toys will stay for our eldest died as a young man 11 long years ago - we need to touch what he touched, what he treasured. Thank you for moments shared.

I am so sorry, Peter. I have to give up the dreams for our son but I still have him with me. You are in my heart. Kit

A very moving poem, Kit. The toys of childhood gathered and boxed up...dreams exchanged and given away. In the first stanza there are three quotation marks that seem out of place.
Very sentimental poem.

I will review and correct. Thank you. I didn't even check for edits before putting this older poem up - just wanted to share it with another parent. Thanks for the help. Kit

Hi Kit
I liked your poem. It took me back to my child-hood days. I have a brother with polio. He could not walk for years
until he had many operations. I feel sorrow but also hope
in this work. Would recommend. Queenise

Thank you, Queensie. Our son is still working on getting stronger - he's 20 now and manages his own health for the most part. He still lives at home and can't work or go to college but it's all possible. My hear tis with you and your brother. Kit

Very good. This is something we all face either for ourselves or our children. It made me think and I liked that. No suggestions for improvement.

Thanks, mountainwriter. We are fortunate that he is getting stronger even now at 20. Kit
