A beautiful poem, it is so dynamic in its portent and
presentatation it could well be one of those love story
segements like "Days Of Our Lives" ; except this is so
much more profound and tells a chapter in the life of
a love that undoubtedly has sequels or ultimately a
happy ending. This one certainly touches all the
wellsprings of raomance most enchantingly.

Once more, I thank you for reading and for your gracious comments. It is a miniature love story, isn't it? Glad you found it romantic. Hugs... Merri

Great work, MissMerrie. Full of very powerful emotion, very effectively portrayed.
I love the way you open the second stanza with the "broken shells" image. And then you follow it with the metaphor of the sea washing away the hearts in the sand like feelings in your own heart being washed away into nothing.
Very poignant last stanza. Counting the stars--very good image again. Also, of course, the darkness shrouding the shore.
I love all the alliteration--also very poetic.

Poignant and full of the real feelings of the author. A work of art bringing the smell and sound of the ocean into my screen. "Broken shells" amplifies the sense of loss. Great work.
