Ha! This one is delicious... I appreciate you brought this as a poem.
My tables groaned aloud each morn,
so laden with each bounteous feast.
Bacon and omelets, burritos too,
cinnamon rolls, my masterpiece.
OOOw, make me hungry. I don't know what to say.
It reminds me of nasi goreng ("fried rice" in my country....excellent. Great job. Blessings, amel

Thank you very much. I appreciate your kiind review a lot. I loved the whole innkeeping thing, but am glad it is behind me... except for all my family who loves to be fed.

LOL What a wonderful 'twist' at the end. It sounds as though the creation of heavenly dishes for your guests gave you much joy. But, I must admit, I like the 'sleeping till noon' part much better. I think you're gonna HAVE TO get my vote!! :-) Blessings, Slush Pile

Thank you very much. I appreciate your kiind review a lot. What a great idea... sleeping til noon, but now I have kids and grandkids to care for... so nothing much changes.

That sounds like a wonderful business. The food sounded even better. I don't really care to pander to people so I would rather be the guest.

I really loved it. Your review is appreciated a lot. My life is different now, but no less hectic. LOL

Your poem was delicious and your final verse brought a smile as my mom owned and ran an Inn for years serving three meals a day to any and all guests who wanted to eat in house rather than go out to dinner! As I think back, remembering her cooking constantly, it boggles the mind!
When she and my dad sold the Inn when I was 12, I was devastated, but I remember Mom being quite thrilled to relax and sleep in!! excellent

What a lovely thought, to have breakfast of ambrosia. To eat the succulent fruit and to savor its wonderful taste, to lavish in the sunshine of the morning.

Skye, I haven't eaten breakfast yet, and now you have me feeling bad about whatever dumb little thing I was planning on making myself - this sounds just deliciously delightful!!! I love the table groaning beneath the weight of all this yummy, inviting, appealing, sinfully good food! :-) What a great contest entry. Brooke

One often celebrates their success, by slacking off, once they have reached their goal. This is very well written with good imagery and descriptive scheme.

skye,
That B&B sounds wonderful if you are on the receiving end, but a whole bunch of work if you are on the giving end...LOL...Seriously, it sounds like you enjoy cooking. I do too, but it does take time. You are probably like me and enjoy cooking more for pleasure than a requirement.
Your poem is well rhymed and I love the descriptions, as the imagery is very enticing to the appetite. Great presentation. This is an excellent entry for the contest.

Thank you for this great review. Now run off to your local IHOP for delectable and delicious food, with no clean up. I find it so relaxing. LOL

skye, my daughter and son-n-law with whom I live decided to buy a B&B. I was just holding my breath because I knew what they were in for. They thought it was a "cool" idea. Praise the Lord, they couldn't get the loan because of the economy. What a relief! Love your poem. Delightful. And good luck in the contest, pat

Read it out loud to them six times a day, and remind them of the beds that must be changed, the telephones, the cleaning, the guests who decide to come or go on a whim, and all the places they cannot go because they must be home. LOL
Thanks for the great review.
