I'm sorry I don't have a six star to pin on this. Not only is the poem wonderfully written and right on about what's going on, your author notes were so intriguing. Wow! I'm sure God was with you, protecting you for sure. Thank you for a good quality read this morning. Judy

I love this review. I would like to think that God has afforded me protection, but think about Jesus. God expectations scare me more, but what a challenge! I have had several sixers for this and many more virtual one's. I really appreciate the thought that backs both; thank you so much for the compliments and this review! Mike

I love your reply. : ) Jesus, yes His loving arms always protecting. But, your story kind of reminds me of Joshua 1. God's promise to be with him and fight his battles for him. God bless

I believe that my ability to connect emotion with thought is a gift from God, as I didn't have it before I wrote poetry. These type of poems are both thrilling and scarey with its element of risk. But they play on one's conscience and have to come out. I do two or three poems faithfully each week, but I generally have to post low. I have another one in a similar vein that I will sacrifice and post high.

I thank you very much for your compliments and this review. Mike

I liked your thought provoking poem. I find Pakistani people that I have met, also very respectful and we could learn some lessons from their manners (our children would certainly benefit.) Culture, culture, all is culture. They live shoulder to shoulder and somehow survive. I like your poem because it tells the truth about Pakistan; the British have a lot to answer for. I think they need our support because everywhere the British have been (Queen Victoria that dear old dream) castrated the countries, stole from them and we across the world are still picking up the pieces. Look at Gandhi; he was educated in England, pity more people didn't recognize his kind of peace. I could go on and bore you, I won't. Thanks for sharing your little bit of Heaven.

No, no I enjoyed the review and thank you for it and the compliments. Much is true and that was what caused the US to rebel. There was on the part of the British a propensity to overlook that good values of a society. I have talked with people from once French colonies and they seem to have a different attitude in reference to them.

    Have a great day! Mike

Firstly, I don't rate anything 6 stars unless it deserves it and you, Mike, deserve it. This was good. I found myself nodding at the statements I often think of myself. I was truly interesting. I enjoyed it. Good job ^_^

You wrote this in a very creative way. You told a story, that I even learned from. I hope you will get this published so more can learn and understand what is going on.

MikeK2, you see this is what I absolutely love about poetry!! A heartflet plea, a thought to ponder seriously on, all said in the format and confines of excellent verses. Brilliant for you. You are heard and I do so agree with you.

Your simile took one aback. It is interesting how you can connect the two in a reletive rational form..well done..very well done.

I hope you are doing fine..warmest regards..jlsavell

Mike K2,

Pakistan is, so I am told by the media, a very difficult country to control, because of various groups of interest, and just plain geography. Trying to put a united front to fight is nearly impossible. And, even if the government were responsive to taking out the terrorists, it means fighting from one cave to another, like the U.S. in the South Pacific on those islands that claimed so many American lives.

Having written this, let me acknowledge that you are correct
in that the more you offer, the more will be demanded and taken, so there is no alternative but to fight. We faced this prior to World War II. Give here, give there, until the enemy decides that we don't have to give, he will simply take what he wants.

History is not kind, because, if you cede, you die, but, if you do not cede, you may also die. The question is whether to die free or to die a slave. I have no answer. Your poem and words speak better than I ever could.

Sincerely, Lyle

I understand this, but as a country there needs to be certain things that all can identify with. Look at the makeup of ours, every fricken group imaginable, and we all live together in relative harmony, while still maintaining our differences.

I especiall like your last paragraph and to be honest, despite the risks, I felt that the greater good would be served with that possible sacrifice. Boy was I glad when it didn't end up that way. It is putting others and the future ahead of you and using the best of your capabilities.

Thank you so much for this review. Mike

I hate to see any country put in a position of war.
Pakistan needs to do what is necessary to rid their land of the evil that has taken up residents

Mike K2 - I enjoyed your poem and your author's notes really brought the situation home. Sorry those things happened to you. With fanatics, you never know what will happen or how they think. Well written. Charlie

Throughout your poem and your final note I could not shake the thought: I do not know much about many countries, but this I do know: 99.99% of the people across all cultures and nations do not want war. They just want the damned-fool people that do to leave them alone. Slainte, rhymer1

That is why I believe the best use of force is for that 99% to use it and walk away from, instead of giving peace to that 1% that doesn't want it and will only use it for stronger violence in the end. I enjoyed this review and thank you for it. Mike
