No matter the medium you write in,
you always come up to expectations
and then beyond.
A beautifully orchestrated light
airy presentation on a Spring day
of a flirtation with that most famous
of flowers, the bown-eyed Susan to
whom so many have succumbed.
A whimsical presentation done
to perfection with beautiful rhyming.
Well done

Unquestionably the most wonderful poem I have ever the privilege to read. I Am absolutely thrilled to have reviewed it. Wow.
Every line was perfect, each word placed precisely, and specifically. Quite astonishing. Not one part, or sound, or rhyme, or conjured image, did I recoil from thinking, Ick! It flowed like a silken sea from the start to the very last sweet line. Thank you so much for the honour, I thoroughly enjoy the experience. And now I see it is adewpearl, hahahaha. you hold that number one spot for a very good reason.
Cheers ;-)

Brad, I don't know what is more endearing - that you say it's the most wonderful poem you've ever read or that you say I didn't once make you think Ick!!!! :-D I live to write the perfect poem that doesn't make anyone feel icky. LOL You've just made my morning. Thank you, Brooke :-)

What an incredible "lemon yellow sea" to make us better visualize yours. I enjoyed your rhyme and your alliteration in the second stanza and all of your usages of personification.

Lucky, lucky flower, to receive such poetic adulation! I like all of your work, but I really love this format and this subject matter. You should be sanctified as the patron saint of flowers.
Regards
Reg
PS I am still working on my "inner city" poem.

This is such a sweet poem about a flower; I liked it because you wrote it so well, in fact you always write well concerning nature and it's gifts. I guess the brown-eyed Susan is busy poking their heads out now that spring has sprung, the grass is ris' I wonder where the flowers is? Thank you for sharing a delightful poem.

Another winner. The rhythm of the words is enchanting, as well as the descriptions you write with such charm. Love the photo as well. Very beautiful

Brooke, I like this one, also. The black-eyed-Susan is Maryland's state flower. I live just a 1/2 hour drive from St. Clements Island. In late summer the ferry is free and carries all who want to see the b-l-susans. It's magnificent. Fields of beautiful fields of them. I love flowers. Have a good day, pat
