He should have remembered the story about the woman who gave her last two coins. You didn't hear Jesus say that she couldn't afford it. Why, Jesus knew she'd be blessed many times over.

I enjoyed this story. And, of course, it was well-written. I agree with the content and the comments you made. Accepting a gift has a grace and dignity, like our Lord accepting the widow's gift who gave all she had. What we do is more important than circumstances.

I wholeheartedly agree with your position. We must remember to take away the giver's blessing. After all, it is better to give than to receive.
Somewhere in the Bible, I believe it is one Jesus's parables, a poor woman gives a penney or two as an offering to the Lord. The more well-off people gave vastly larger sums, but Jesus said the poor woman's gift is more valuable because she gave all that she had. Jesus did not return her gift. Instead he accepted it with grattitude. Like you said, we are all human and make the occastional mistake. You displayed the right attitude.

It took me some time to grasp that but it sure does make sense. It's just awful to try to give when others won't recieve.

Sometimes I feel that giving gifts and receiving them is art. You can destroy the joy of giving so easily but you can also take the joy of receiving away too. It seems to me that you are giver by your heart and it's something this world needs.
I'm giver too and usually it means that I don't get much what doesn't bother me. But when I get something I hope that I can enjoy about it whole heartily. Once when I got gift what was something what I really needed (I just moved to live alone and didn't have even cattle and two of my friends got one to me.) I was so happy. Later other of those two friends gave me a preach about it how they needed to buy that to me and after that I couldn't use that cattle without feeling guilt. If she would have given it to me alone I would have given it back but I didn't want to make that other girl feel bad so I kept it but later it found it's way to my mothers kitchen. I just couldn't keep it.
