Very well done. Forgive me, but I had a difficult time reading it. My lack of understanding poetry is the culprit and not your writing skills. I read it twice and thought about it for several moments before it became fully clear to me. The line, "Love's ashes buried 'neath the graveyard stone.", I assume means her love died. The more I read it, the more I liked it. Nice work. Thanks for sharing it. Stay well.

Thank you for the great review. I found the painting by Michael Cheval named "Unrequited Letters" featured here, a perfect match for the topic.

My Lady, I feel that I should write this review in Spenserian quatrains - and I note that they are reminiscent of Dante's 'terza rima' in linking the stanzas. Coincidentally I had a conversation about The Fairie Queene at coffee with a friend on Wednesday, so I am up for this! Your rhyming is impeccable, the parodic choice of vocabulary is perfect and all the linkage is accurate, so I would give you six stars if I could. Good luck with all your future writing. Paul

Well deserved win!!! I am not very good at rhyming and this makes me want to start practicing! I am just not the best at putting my thoughts into words... Practice makes perfect though right?! Thank you so much for sharing! ~Janel

A complex form to get to grips with but you do it ably. A lovely insight into a relationship, the linking rhymes adding to the linking of the couple by letters - or not! I haven't read Spenser since university. Thank you for taking me back!

Unrequited love is a tragedy. And your words and artwork perfectly captured the agony of it all. When someone scribes without desire, the will pierces deeply. Great imagery!

Wow. This was very Shakespearean. I might not have understood it totally but I enjoyed the ride. This was amazing. I see why there is so much being attached to it. Great poem. Thanks for sharing. Gretchen

Gracious me! This is poetry perfection, dear Muse! No wonder it was awarded. Congratulations on such a fine achievement and a beautiful addition to your book of poems. How talented you are! The slant rhymes are lovely and make the flow smooth and effortless. (I hate it when rhymes sound too forced.)

I'm in elementary school with poetry and that's okay. I love it though and enjoy so many different forms. I wrote a Petrarchan Sonnet once and my brain about caught fire! Thankfully, I recovered.

Again, thank you for sharing. I will bookcase this for my education.

Sending you my best today as always.
