There's a criminal in each one of us. Why don't we release it? Surprisingly not because of our conscience but because of fear. Real criminals win over their fear, a monster bigger than consciousness... Do you think Hitler was remorseful of his actions ?

No, I don't think lots of people are remorseful. That guy who did the ponzi scheme and lost millions and millions for retired people, etc - I don't think he's sorry about anything but getting caught. I don't think gang members who shoot some kid who got in the way of a drive by are remorseful. I think lots and lots of people lack remorse, shame, reflection. Thanks for reading this oldie. Brooke

One of my favorite scriptures I need reminding of is this,

"I have not given you a spirit of fear...." You probably know the rest. If I type it out, I'll climb on my soapbox, but I'll just save that for another write!
Thanks for the inspiration!

What a perfect message you share here and cover all the angles! Let's look at the root cause of problems and find the solutions.

Simply put, Which fruit of the spirit would be the direct opposite of an issue or sin? Solution? Pray for those fruits to manifest richly!

Thanks for this!

Great job! So true. I think it is John Bradshaw who said whatever isn't based in love is based in fear.

You did a great job outlining the many instances where fear is the culprit for so many actions (I am sure you could have gone on and on...)

Wish I had a six to give you. This is very well written and well defined.

Good luck in the contest!

Oh, Brooke, you have my vote on this one. Beautifully written, excellent advancement from one example to another, and furthermore, true.

It is fear, more than any other motivator, that moves the majority of mankind.

All the best in the contest,

Hugs,
Gayle

Hi Brooke, this is surely one of the deepest and accurate accounts of what drives people to do what they do. Fear! They say money is the route of all evil but one could just as well say Fear.
You wrote a worthy and thought provoking article here and I hope many people read it.
Well done and best wishes with the contest. Regards jada

Our President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, once said we have nothing to fear but fear itself. I would argue that is one of the wisest things ever uttered by man.

Very nice summation. Excellent read and definitely gets the point across. Agree with you 100%

Brian, since you say I get the point across, that it is an excellent read and you agree with me 100%, I'm a tad curious why you gave this a 4 rating. Could you please clarify? Thank you, Brooke

You wrote some interesting perspectives of fear. Sadly many people don't see the root cause of fear they carry within themselves. If they did, the world would be more in harmony rather than the mess it is in today. I enjoyed this read. Regards, Lori

Excellent writing here, adewpearl. I love how you mentioned several fears and then expounded on each one. And the ending was the best. I loved the quote from F.D. Roosevelt. I believe you hit the nail on the head, a clichè I know, but fitting here.

This was a thought provoking piece. I agree that racism is still not defeated.

All in all, you have my vote on this essay.

This is a well thought out and written dissertation. It reminds me of one that I did on Fear Motivation. One is afraid of failure and also afraid of success. I will have to write it again for FanStory.

Thank You My Friend,

Knowledge

Hi Brooke,

Very good! Geez, on a lot of things we really do think alike. But I not only like this essay because I totally agree with it, but because it is very well written, well thought out & logically set down.

It's just damn good!

smiles,

deb
