Very effective use of photo. It amazes me when people complain about things and demand changes to such things a baby beds bumpers, yet never say a thing about the THOUSANDS killed every year in an automobile--as they yak on their cellphones.
Good entry. lots of luck.

I think this story and the writer has a lot of merit, for I can definitely relate. Being that I too was in an accident, as the passenger of my own car that went off a 30ft. Cliff and right through a tree. In my case I crawled out of a space that they said "no one should have lived". I only had a small bump on my temple and one very small scratch on my arm. So what I'm saying is, that this story will hold the interest of the readers and also relate to some of us out here. Of course the character(s) are believable and the story also contained a little humor, my car could not be revived either !

Hi Lynnor, God Bless You! I'm so glad you survived the accident. My accident seems tame to yours. I guess we both had guardian angels watching over us. I hope a lot of people do relate to this story. If it were'nt for the seatbelt I might have died. Thanks for sharing your story and reviewing mine. Helvi :o)

Yes, I do believe so. Seat belts are the best invention in most cases. I was so glad to read that you had also come out of yours the way you did, it could have been worse. One thing to remember, Bees, wasps and exct.... will not sting of you do not swat at them and they won't drive ones car into a tree either if they are left as a passenger (lol?).

I love these six word stories. And I am so glad that you added a note to explain it. Yes, those seatbelts are important. We trained our daughters to always put on a seltbelt and it saved my youngest one from serious injury when a truck she was riding in was broadsided and flipped over. Thank God that you had your seat on. Thanks. Charlie

Hi Charlie, So many people hate to be restricted by seatbelts, my brother is one of them. I wouldn't dare get in the car without using one. I'm so glad you trained your daughters to use them. I'm also happy your youngest was not hurt seriously. I'm sure all of you thanked God for the seatbelt on that day. Thanks for sharing your story. Bless You, Helvi :o)

Very pithy, Helvi!

Wearing a seatbelt was made a legal requirement here decades ago, after the usual guff about being an infringement of freedoms, or some such twaddle. Some freedom - to die or be permanently, severely disabled instead of being able to walk away from an accident, as you did here!

There's a typo here: resusitate is resuscitate. Hence the temporary four - six words, one typo, whoops! LOL

Good luck in the contest!

Louise :)))

Hi Louise, I wish you had been the first one to give me a four. The first two reviews I got were four, but they didn't say what I did wrong. I wish I had written this on Word then I wouldn't have made such a stupid mistake. I only had to write six words so I really feel embarrassed. Thank you for letting me know about my error and for calling my six word story pithy. Appreciate the wishes. :o) Helvi :o)

It's so easy for typos to slip through writing straight to FS, isn't it? I find that too! And then we feel like hiding under the desk or something in embarrassment, lol.

I was kinda surprised nobody'd caught it, too ... but it's fixed now and you've got that last star!

    Louise :))))

Thank you so much! I didn't expect the extra star so I am very grateful. You're a real doll. :o) :o)

Oh heck, like I'd leave it at five when the editing was done - I did say it was a temporary four, anyway!

I was just thinking about that, y'know - when reviewers say "I never re-grade". That always seems like a publisher saying they want edits done but won't look at the work for publication anyway! Very odd.

    Louise ;)

Helvi2, your six word true story would be funny if it wasn't so close to being a huge tragedy. Those darned bees and hornets will make you do crazy things, won't they? Glad you're okay. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks, I thought a special touch was needed because of the trauma. Now, I can think about it with a bit of humor, simply because it's something you wouldn't expect. When I saw the damage to the car, my first thought was, "I can't believe that someone could have lived through that." Thanks for your concern, I'm glad I'm okay too. Bless you, Helvi :o)

This must have been a terrible thing to experience and I am pleased that you came through the accident with minor injuries and recovered unlike the car but at the time that must have been least of your worries well done regards Fuller

Great story, Helvi2, and sound advice. I rolled and totalled a truck when I was seventeen - broken bones left me down for a while, but I would have been fine had I been wearing a seatbelt. A worthy contender for the contest - all the best, Heather

This is a twist of words. Thank goodness it was the reverse and the car could not be resuscitated. Your words said there was a story behind them. Thanks for relating and glad you had no permanent injuries. Great entry.

I am so grateful for the seat belt and the airbag.
My wife Tonia was in a horrible accident 35 years ago. Darn near killed her. She was not wearing hers, and was hit broadside on her side. She was the passenger. She was thrown 100 YARDS DOWN THE ROAD AND SUFFERED SEVERE TRAUMA TO HER HEAD, NECK AND SHOULDER. HE TOO NOW WEARS HER seat SEAT BELT. GREAT STORY "N"

Hi Bear, I can only imagine what a terrifying moment that was for both of you.. A broadside hit would really scare me. I'm glad that she survived from the incredible trauma she experienced. It's nice to have a second chance in life. I have no doubt that she wears her seatbelt and makes sure you're buckled up as well. God Bless You Both, Helvi :o)
