Thank you so much for sharing this poem. I worked at a group home for years and understand the impact that childhood abuse can have on one's life. I can feel your pain and your attempt to overcome! I hope you find out what's really true and that you are fabulous and amazing!

Certainly worthy of being nominated for poem of the month, this is a finely crafted and powerfully meaningful write which serves to remind all our inner children to forgive and forget the past; to heal and be joyful.

Accolades for this wonderful work. NO SPAG.

Good luck in the contest.
Warm Regards,
rama devi

Hello, dear friend, this was just a beautiful and touching piece of poetry! Your voice is so strong and expresses the strength of others with your magic touch! You have the ability to tap into those that need to be tapped and guide them with a gentle loving voice packed with inspiration this poem is truly your soul exposed and yet, held closely to your own heart..grand job, much love twomoon

Rdfrdmom2,

I like this poem. You send a powerful message to those who need to hear that childhood abuse is NOT their fault. But you do so with a gentle tone and words.

I like the rhyme scheme here, nothing feels forced.

I found nothing to change.

Take care,
Kathryn

While the topic is horrendous, the approach shows sensitivity and understanding. A depressing reality, but at least some consolation found in verse.

Provocative subject matter, with your ideas and expression well executed. Sadly, I think MOST of use share this bond , which makes this piece all the more appropriate.
Great job, and good luck.

I think they're saying now that 60% of all women have experienced some sort of sexual assault. that is criminal, to say the least. thanks for your review. love, jan

Demons? words are seldom true...

If everyone believed this evil would not rein on this earth!

Sweet, challenging piece that screams for release.

Good luck in the contest!

Thanks, Shell. Unfortunately, the demon's tongue is often so smooth we don't recognize there is a demon behind it until too late. love, jan

rdfrdmom2, what a touching poem about such a rotten subject. However, in the midst of this tragic subject you have brought a light of hope to those who have been harmed. I too am one who regained my childhood voice and self-assurance. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the contest. ;o)sr

thanks, grandmarennie. I'm considering doing a compilation of stories about people who have regained their childhood voices tentatively to be titled "Voices from Innocent Hearts" -- Let me know if you'd be interested -- As soon as I get my current book off to the publisher, I hope to begin that and finish "Cries in the Dark". love, jan

The reader can sense every emotion of the protector and the child. Excellent use of vocabulary. Poignant in its hope for victory over destruction. Good Luck. LadyMary

Thanks, LadyMary. I almost didn't post this one since it was specifically for someone but we decided it needed to be shared with others. Love, Jan

Rd,

This one that is not usually well defined because of others has found a clear and graceful shot at being something much better than they thought. This poem highlights the journey
