First off, happy birthday, however belated. I hope you gorged on cake, popped several balloons and were generally lovingly fussed over by your loved ones.

Write to her? How will that help? She can't read it. She's d. . ." (this is all I found, Jan. It's hard to tell who's "D". Sneaky ending, but it's confusing with the "She's D . . ." being uttered by Margaret.
A VERY nice story, dude. I loved it.

Aw, I was trying to trick you into thinking Margaret was going to say "She's dead" when in fact what she was saying was "She's down there (on earth) and I'm up here in heaven."
My birthday was very nice! :-) My eight year old daughter made me two birthday cakes, so yes, "gorge" would be a most appropriate description. I am very blessed.
Thanks for the terrific review!
:-)

Okay, this one needs to come with a "have a full box of kleenex handy when reading" warning!! Oh my gosh, I was sobbing by the time I got to the end. And what a twist...for the mother to be writing the letter from heaven.
Beautiful.
BTW - Happy Birthday!

This is well written. The spaces between POV shifts really helps with the transition. I like the idea of writing to someone who has passed. It's a cathartic experience, as we all know.

How could I look for errors when my eyes were so full of tears? I don't know what's wrong with me lately, everything I read is making me cry. This was no exception, you always have a knack of bringing forth my emotions. This was well done and a poignant story. It made me think of my grandma, that's who I'm missin'. Thanks for sharing your incredible writing talent with us, my dear, dear friend.
Love,
Jenny *smile*
