Our family has a prayer circle going right now- from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean for my son-in-law, who is facing a very serious surgery tomorrow- that is so serious because three doctors told him it was a torn muscle instead of a tumor growing on his shoulder.

I just received a phone call- he came through surgery better then the doctors anticipated. They got most of the tumor, and they seemed happy at what they accomplised. Thank you for your prayers.

He does you know,he knows when we have a sad day,A happy day
He also knows about our pain, our arguments. We all know how he can be hurt when we hurt Him.Sometimes it can be good to write our worries down on a piece of paper.Pray to God for help..

I really like the idea that this piece is trying to get across; I never thought of the troubles on my mind maybe being eased by someone else's prayer. However, I do think that this short story needs a little work. As A reader, I was drawn more to the prayers right from the start instead of the point the story was trying to make. In your notes you say this came from some thought while in prayer; Maybe talk about what you were praying about. It just seems more like a list of thoughts more than a short story. A suggestion: Maybe you can turn this into some kind of inspirational fiction story.

Good thoughts work as prayers too, don't they? I mean sometimes we can just send a pleasant thought or feeling toward someone else and there's a positive reaction. I've been in situations where I see someone having a difficult time, with child or a shopping cart or whatever. Just taking the time to make eye contact and a smile that says 'I care' or 'I understand' or 'I've been there' seems to help. Good essay with a thought worth thinking about. ann

Those prayers do work, although every now and then, it takes a while. We finally sold the house with two mortgages on it, I got a full time job making good money, at the moving sale on Friday Bruce got a real estate customer and, best of all, I start the new job and we go to settlement on our 41st anniversary - tomorrow! Like I said, it took a while, but once those prayers started working, it was like the best rainfull ever. Hugs, Maggie
