This one is heavy and even funny to say the least. the use of prose to tell the interesting tale of 'negotiation' which is ludicrous (to say the least); is enthralling.

Hey Mike,

Well, as much as I enjoyed the poem, being a prose writer, I enjoyed the author's notes even more.

We are indeed in a precarious position that crawls inexoriably toward an end we do not anticipate.

Thanks for sharing<

I agree with precarious, but to what extent, I am not sure or if there is something like this in/for every day and age. The two principles I have stated in this is "terrorists (tyrannists) can be given on pause or quarter and that we much be eternally vigilant about this. Hopefully the entire world is as well. Thank you so much for your compliments and this review.

Your politics aside, this poem is OK. I had a little trouble following it through from beginning to end - the flow was a little rough - but I got there, and it was worth the effort. Particularly the last stanza:

We'll work together until
we declare you the enemy
that we must meet!
In the meantime, please
accept the world accolades
for this newly created peace.

Those six lines sum up everything you were trying to say, I think. Good work!

(As a side note, I would disagree on the point that Israel is a Jewish-run state. I think it's pretty obvious that they are, but you do make a round-about point, I think: freedom of religion doesn't mean you're free to practice your religion; it means the people who disagree with you are free to practice a different one.)

Either way, still a good poem. Nice job. :)

Great; true and very ironic. Your thoughts in your "Author Notes" are well thought out. Its a sad state of affairs when we have to lower ourselves down to terroist acts. I enjoyed the piece and appreciate your sharing...

I really don't believed that we have lowered ourselves, we do try to avoid innocent casualities even at a cost to ourselves. I believe that is the difference. I would hate to have to be that person that decides, do we get him now and have 20 innocent people die or do we try to wait and have 300 of our own people die. Intellegence is the key, but allowing things to fester also causes innocent deaths. I really appreciate this review and thank you for your compliments.

Well written. Regarding the Israelis and the Palestinian question though, I fear that for the Palestinians the year 1948 is the key. They feel that in that year they lost their homeland to create the state of Israel. It hasn't gone down well. The two state solution is the answer, but some will accept nothing less than the status quo ante. Larry

I believe that there is also 1962, with a war approaching the people were asked where do the stand and they stood with Israel's enemy and that is when the West Bank and Gaza were occupied. Being the Holy Land, I believe that the jewish people were the origional inhabitants, but that area has been conquered and taken over so many times. Thank you very much for your comments and this review.

Another one of those editorials in the author's notes! LOL
I really liked your poem - I thought it was right to the point. How sad and how true, not necessarily in this order.

Ironic piece yet it carries the truth inside. Wondeful and you have conveyed a great message that war is not really the solution to every conflict not just to Pakistan people but to all humanities. Well done.
