I couldn't tell if you were glad to see 2007 go away or not.
This reads well so meter is good. Your thoughts are good.
You should say "sped" instead of "speeded".
Instead of saying "I'll better" think about using a ? after "need". Then say "I'd better" etc. Omit the "a". (It's an unnecessary word). You could end the work before the last paragraph. It is a poem without the ending statement.
