You followed the rules of the contest very well. Story makes sense. Believable dialogue. No errors. Good job and good luck.

Interesting topic, I have heard about this before, but did not realize it was so widespread. Good job writing, no errors, thanks for sharing this information.

Hello Mrs. KT,

This is sad. I had a hard time reading it. This contest certainly is a challenge! You've rose to the occassion and wrote a riveting and gripping narrative that needs to be told. I wasn't aware of this practice.

Best of luck!

Lorna

Dear Mrs. KT

Magnificent job. I had goose bumps while reading this. I am a Christian counsellor to hurting women. You were able to describe the horror these girls experience.

The two-word sentences were well thought out. Congratulations.

Blessings, Pat

Hi Mrs. KT,

It's incredible, the lengths kids go to when they hate themselves. Self-mutilation, annorexia, drug and alcohol indulgence, it's just tragic.

Thank you for bringing this pitiful situation to our attention. I don't know how to fix it, but knowledge is power, and you're spreading the word.

Well, tell them, don't "damn" anything, especially in the name of God, since he will answer that prayer. Forgiveness is given, the moment it is asked for. Perhaps have them write poetry (oh, that is probably what you are doing). Ask them to experience the world, out in their middle class worlds, in their home gardens, looking at sunsets, touching trees. On my website, there is an article, Building the Brain through the senses, you may want to read. It can help with these girls, since it deals with the issue of sensory issues. They may need sensory integration help. Go to sensory international's webpage; there is help there. Please try. Have them stand and write. Have them do a figure eight a few times to engage both hemispheres and strengthen the corpus callosum. Many of them may be learning disabled; look at their facial features. Low hairline; ear level below eye level; midface hypoplasia? The face speaks volumes.
