Your writing offers a diverse range of reflections! You touch on speculative fiction about a dystopian future to personal anecdotes and social commentary. I'm not sure posting all at once is the best way to do it. But these pieces provoke thought and reflection!

This is a new format for me...a list of prompts with your responses. Quite a variety!
Here are some suggestions for your consideration:
The rich build underground cities
(Keep it in past tense to match the rest...built)
Unfortunately, there are so many
Scumbags in the world,
In a position of power
(I was reading recently about psychopaths, and learned that there are a disproportionate number of them as leaders of companies and countries. They aren't constrained by niceties or a moral compass, so rise much faster through the ranks. Just thought that was interesting)
He remains me
Of an old-time insult
(Do you mean...He reminds me...?)
What was the name of that parasite? That sounds like a nightmare. I had a friend who picked up an intestinal parasite while vacationing in Mexico. Drs told her there was no known way to remove it. Up to that point it had never occurred to me you could pick up a parasite that couldn't be killed by one of our arsenal of dewormers!
Let me know if this is too much personal commentary for you and I'll refrain in the future. You just brought up a few interesting topics!
