Amen! I see those young moms looking so tired and I don't miss those days either and no thanks to adolescence! Each season has its blessings and God is with us. Hope Steve is doing better. Sending prayers ��

    I agree! I have daughters experiencing that right now, one who is mid30s with a 16-month-old, and an older daughter with 4 kids who has returned to school. I admire them both but have NO desire to go back! lol

Debora, honestly, I am not at the stage where I don't wish to go back and change things. I am at the stage where I surely would probably mess it up, well except for convincing myself to avoid certain people - that would be a plus. Thank you for your incite and your artistry.

    I spoke to my daughter after a very bad marriage and rocky divorce. I made the comment that I wished we'd seen through her ex before she was so entangled and traumatized. She said that, no, if she hadn't met and married him, she would have missed so much in growing and learning to be strong, to stand up for herself, and to support other women. She amazed me. I'd love to 'unmeet' some sandpaper people, too but have to wonder what it would change inside me.
    And, just to be transparent, I'm going to Austin on Wds. My daughter (the survivor) is a PA and she's doing a treatment on my hands for a teaching session. I guess I'm the Guinna pig, but I'm also gonna walk away with hannds that look younger! So.. hmm... Maybe I would turn back the clock a bit if I had the chance. lol
    Thank you for commmenting on the artwork. But I used bing.com/images to create it. Too many poems to try to draw one for each day of the contest. I do illlustrate my books without that aid but not often here on FS.

A great attitude spoken in this poem and one we should all adopt in our lives. Wishing for the past is a waste of the time you have. Live your life here and now before it's gone. Thank you for sharing!

    Or living in fear BECAUSE of the past. That was a lesson it took me a long time to learn. But I love my here-and-now. I wouldn't trade it.

Well, I'm just glad you are healthy and happy at 63 and life is good. You haven't quite reached the Golden Years, but if you're looking forward to them being the best time of your life like they say, don't get your hopes up. They aren't what they are cracked up to be. LOL. The Golden Years should have been called, bag, bridges, and bi-focal glasses, it's all going to pieces. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

    That's what I hear! lol. No bifocal glasses for me, though, Ric. I'm far past that point. I do worry that the vision is going so quickly. The past year has shown a marked decrease and, since I started with so little, it's not the best news of my life. But, hey, I was supposed to be totally blind by 25 so I'm still ahead of the game!

Thank you for sharing this NaPoWriMo Contest Entry #14 with us. I have often said, 'I wish I had that knowledge I have now with the body I had back then. If I did, I'd have been unstoppable.' LOL I agree, I wouldn't want to go back to then. I'm more satisfied with myself now. I think God is too. I enjoyed reading.

We can only live in the now and we need to be satisfied and contented with life to live it well. It is no use yearning for the past as it cannot be repeated and the future cannot be guaranteed. A poignant post Debora, love Dolly x

I enjoyed this poem. I like that you appreciate the "now" and wouldn't revisit the "then." I don't know if I could say the same. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

    Thank you, Jessi. There are so many things I'd go back and change but I'd be concerned about the consequences. Remember that movie 'The Butterfly Effect'? Yup, like that. :)
