It does make one wonder, when a loved one has suffered for years, if God exists. My brother suffered for eight years with an incurable cancer. It is hard to watch someone you love suffer so terribly and so long. I like the way you put this story together.

Thank you for reviewing, and so thoughtfully. Yes, you are right, and it is fine to be honest with God about all our questions, even while we trust Him and His plans and purposes.

And this is why I love to read your posts, Wendy. Every single one has your heart in it. I LOVE the answers you imagine God would give...
He must be smiling, because I can't tell you how many times in my nursing career, and now that I'm retired, I hear people say similar things--
"God wasn't on his side"
"I prayed but God didn't listen"
"How could God let this happen?"
One day we'll all understand ALL the ways God has been ever present in our lives.
Blessings to Margaret.
Seems SHE was the answer to many a prayer herself!
(So are you)

Thank you very much for this super review. It's true, people expect unnatural "service" from God. The reality is pain, dying and inevitable death. He never promised us a happy life at all times, but He did assure us of His presence and comfort as we go through human experiences. I am sure Margaret was and is a blessing to many. At present she is in a lot of pain, but she still says "I am blessed" and "I am well cared for". She is definitely a wonderful role model re coping with pain and with her attitude to dying and death.
Thank you again.

And Margaret is added to my prayers...
I am thanking God for such as her!

This mix of fiction and nonfiction was lovely and touching. It is encouraging for those of us going through some hard times to be reminded that God is often at work behind the scenes.

An excellent read, I can agree that with so much pain and suffering that some would like to go before it became unbearable, and can understand how Gog is helping everyone, very well written****kahpot

Your words illuminate what can feel like a dark tunnel at times in our life. God is always there, always giving us what we need as we need it, in his perfect timing. Learning to trust in that always is the challenge.

We can't always wish for them to remain with us, nor should we. There comes a time when we have to let go . . . when the ones who suffer must let go. I think you've done a good job here of summarizing the thoughts and feelings of your dear Margaret and the answers that the Lord might have to her - and others' - prayers.
Thank you for sharing your friend's story with us.

Thank you Pam. Excellent review. Yes, I was quite shocked at the other person?s response. M is ready to go, and she knows it would be at the best time, and we all do have to go. God is involved in our lives if we wish Him to be, and we can acknowledge Him in all things, even our death.

This is difficult to review because it is such an affectionate, touching fictionalized end of life story. The dialogue between God and Margaret is personal, intimate.
What can one comment that would not sound intrusive?
Thank you for sharing your fine work.
Blessings, Julia

This is very well written, and I enjoyed listening to it very muc. Sometimes this God's children we failed to understand that he has a purpose for each life and he has his time. For each life and we just need to praise him and thank him for giving us the time that we have with our loved ones and then be prepared to say goodbye and know that our loved ones are with him when they die.
