It is so very hard on one's future life when they had to do whatever it takes to make sure they and theirs have a future, we must survive, so very well written, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

This poem emits feelings, and flows nicely. It has impact as well with your word choice. I like when you say,"but no one knows I never chose there was no choice." Great job with this!

Did you know you have too many lines on the first two stanzas? You may have chosen to do this for creative reasons. Your poem was lovely, though sad. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

I was surprised by this poem Jen, especially the language used. I enjoyed the sentiments as some women have had to sell themselves to care for their families. I think you need to check the rules again for the Minute poem to bring this into line for the contest, I wish you luck, love Dolly x

I love how you started this off with the shocking line. It certainly grabbed my attention, and then as I read through, it put me to thinking just how many had been in the same or similar position for most of their lives. Great job! But as you'd guess, this cowboy is all out of bullets so late in the week. But that doesn't mean I like it any less. Thanks for sharing, my special friend! :-)

Thank you Ric, my special friend for the great review although I?ve changed the first line due to criticism. Congratulations on your second place win although you should have come first. Love Jen.x

Thanks, Jen! Sorry about the critics who always shame us into their way of thinking. In this case they were wrong. The bluntness emphasized the sacrifices made to survive. Maybe they hadn?t experienced the difficulties. I thought it was a fantastic choice. And it certainly pulled at my heartstrings. Hugs!
