Just read this after the competition and I found it to be one on the better ones. I cannot work out why things I don't rate much get many votes and treasures like this get lost. All I can suggest is to add a picture? A clock perhaps, would that make a difference? It shouldn't be it might.

Better than saying the dog ate my homework, especially when you don't own a dog. LOL I don't think I ever heard my children use the one about the clocks. Good one!

Great story crafted in only fifty words...not easy to do. I love the child's excuse for being late. The clock did it, not the child. Your includes all the parts of good fiction; a great introduction, a challenge (the Sister's question), and a final resolution. Great job. Best wishes in the contest.

Hello mystery author. The required fifty word was met with a beginning middle and end, with a twist at the end.

This fifty-word story, Mistimed, has the proper word count and seems to reflect a teacher with her finger on the source of tardiness. My teacher told me if I could be late all the time, I could be on time all the time.

Oh my, some good ones are coming out to dance for this contest.

I would capitalize sister in the third paragraph as it is a title used in the context of a name. Just my two cents.

It's not easy to tell a story in just fifty words but you accomplished it really well here. It was quite a timely piece as our clocks just went forward an hour this weekend.
