This is a deep and rather philosophical read in which you seem to capture in your free verse a sense of the complexities of knowing our true self, rather than the illusion of who we are to others and in our "life's work." A challenging theme which I think you deal with well and very thoughtfully. 2nd to last line - inevitab(ility). Well done! Debbie

I think you're trying to say that we can never fully know ourselves. There are areas known to us and unknown to others but there are also areas known by others and unknown by us. So I think we're talking about self disclosure and blind spots. And when we think we know who and what we are a skeleton will jump out of the closet and remind us that we don't. I think you so what summed it up.
