This is a 5-7-5 piece of writing, but that does not make it a poem. This is simply a factual sentence broken over three lines. Poetry does not have to rhyme and does not have to have meter. But in my opinion Poetry should either convey a thought, describe a scene or tell a story in a concentrated, often lyrical arrangement of words. A poem is a piece of writing that uses imaginative words to share ideas, emotions or a story with the reader. This image is wonderful and is a perfect opportunity for you to explain how the image makes you feel, how you felt when you created it or why you chose this particular flower. What does this image mean to you? Are those fourteen years important, what has changed? Was the computer important to you? I am giving you 4 stars, which I think is probably breaking the unwritten rules of this site, because this is not as you say about the piece of art.

A beautiful piece of artwork done by your very hand just 14 years ago. Great colors. Bases on the red swirls, it could be a rose. The 5-7-5 form done effectively. A simple statement.

What a pretty picture, Pat. I haven't figured out how to do much more than type on the computer and even that is only done with 4 fingers. :-)
I like the colors you used, especially the shade of green around the edge. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.

Yours was a better 5-7-5 than mine! Good illustration and color scheme. You are an accomplished artist as well as poet, especially if you did this on an outdated computer.

Very pretty, I am not computer savvy. It is all I can do to get on here to post my poems. I have to ask my son for help quite often. One day I will get the hang of it.
