I was recently told we should not live to eat but eat to live. The outlook on eating is different that way. I grew up living to eat and everything was celebrated with food. I'm trying very hard to change that, and maybe some of this weight will come off. Of course, I took one simple sentence out of your entire well written post and concentrated on that. Shows where my mind is. LOL

I liked the personality here, the sense of humor about the imperfections of life, the sense of making do with what you have instead of insisting on perfection. You let us in the details of what ails you; the lack of hot water, the bad food; and then you look over the heads of everything to the peace and quiet of the isolated island, it's magic taking you away from the hustle and bustles of life at work. estory

I like Roatan, especially the east side away from all the action, which is far less than most any other beach areas. Sounds like you're having a great time. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing.

Dreams are what we hope for and travel fulfills so many of those dreams. We should learn to enjoy the moment and not pick it apart simply because it is not what we thought it would be or have grown accustomed to. It would not be an adventure if it was not different.

I recall one of your posts, a long time in the past, when you went on holiday around Christmas time and were singing the praises of the island cruise and the joys it was bringing you.
Looks as though you've found or encountered another. And able to "X" it off your healthy, no critical issue, bucket list!
