Suggest delete the second 'drink'. . . large frosted glass with a colorful umbrella . . .

(lay) back down

Maybe he has the massage and then the dinner?

Not clear what Ted was there to do. Moral support? Reinforcement? Check up on Morgan?

Morgan definitely needed this timeout to prepare for what's coming.

Oh yes, I turned away from alcohol, gambling and tobacco forty years ago. I know what it's like, my marriage, my children's future, my grands have all done so well, perhaps God rewarded and blessed the generations for my response to His request, I'm certain He did. As with your hero. Beautifully written Douglas, blessings Roy

It's the doctor. Either she is the most incompetent doctor ever, or she is the villain. Morgan would have been ripe for hypnotherapy. She could have introduced a smell, every time he thinks about alcohol, he would smell this awful smell. Without the alcohol dumbing him down, he would not have catted around so much. Just my thoughts. Karen

Morgan had a beneficial conversation with his menter Teddy. I'm happy Morgan is clean and sober.

I guess Morgan is going to go out withTamra.... maybe more.

Well done

This was a great post. I enjoyed reading. I'm glad Morgan has his life back together. I was hoping Ted Norton would help solve those ladies' murders. I know he didn't do it. As for the taking the money, well, I haven't figured out a why yet. Only that he did do it. I guess just because he could. Thank you for sharing.

Ha! He may be clean and sober, but he has a legal mess when he returns to Seattle.

Me thinks we need a miracle! Appreciate the sixer!

Don, don-ta-don, da da.... Anyway, that was intended to be Rocky Balboa music, the tune played when he was ready, and training was accomplished.
Nicely done. But it seemed like a huge expense for Ted. I would have thought for a meeting such as that for there to have been a strategy session.
Best wishes.

It was mentioned earlier that Ted was tenured at WU where Kelly is schooling. He should be fine with money.

Short of a miracle or helping hand, albeit a clean Morgan, he still seems screwed criminally. I mean, they have a witness seeing him leave the alley, where they have to have found Beth Jackie?s body by now.

Douglas, good to know he's clean. That is the first step in rehabbing the guy. But he seems to have a ways to go. I see this as a setup chapter for what happens next. Good job. Terry.

You nailed it! He may have cleaned up,
His legal issues seem insurmountable. He needs rescue or a miracle. Or both? A short respite before the ride starts again.

This really is the new Morgan! I'm amazed, he's taken to the new lifestyle like a duck to water. And what a great mate to have in Norton. But it's too early, perhaps, to think this change can be sustained. We'll see! Small edit: "You('re) doing it" Ted smiled. A watershed? 11 days left. Well done! Debbie

Awesome fix. Morgan is clean, but he has a myriad of legal issues when he returns. He needs a helping hand or a miracle. Or maybe just a really good writer? Ha!!

Wow, great turnaround! Whether or not he can get out of his legal issues, his head is in a much better place.
I'm thinking maybe I could use an all-inclusive resort about now...

Oh great, dad's back. (Dad's)

the burnt out man (burnt-out)

Your doing it."Ted smiled. (You're)

well-rested and well-fed (no hyphens. I am well fed. The well-fed man)

But, I have to go back and I still have no (back, and)

all inclusive resort (all-inclusive)

Nice job!

By George, as Rex Harrison said in my Fair Lady, I think she/he has it!
Another chapter that flows like water over Niagra Falls. Very well done.
Do published writings have such short chapters? Most of what I read/red go on and on, whereas this story is easy to stop and go with.

Novellas do. They are around 30,000 words so this is the proper size. Sometimes I feel they are too short, but I am sticking to the contest guidelines. Thanks for the review!!!
