After you mentioned this, we looked up that earthquake and it sounded real scary. I'm sure all the country thought it was the end as described in Revelation!

My intention wasn't to alarm anyone. It was to point out that any unusual thing is an excuse for those write for TikTok to get everyone talking. The earthquake is use one of the many things on that site that has preachers and soothsayer putting out all sort of doomsday predictions. My son told me about them. Things like that seldom happen. When something really happens it will likely be line 911 with no warning. The New Madrid earthquake will blow again at some point but I doubt if the eclipise will cause it.

Oh this is interesting, Beth. I have seen a few eclipses in my life due to all my travelling. I didn't know that it's also the reason for conspiracy theories. I know an eclipse was feared in the distance past. Best of luck with your 5-7-5 poem in the contest. Ulla xcx

Conspiracy is probably not the right word unless you think someone is keeping if from people so they won't panic. I don;t expect anything will happen but I've heard the media sites that deal in conspiracies are predicting all sort of dire disasters might happen.

This is an interesting poem and note. I didn't realize that there was going to be a solar eclipse on April 8. I wouldn't say the eclipse caused the earthquake unless in happen on the day of or the day after the eclipse.

Thank you Joan, I wouldn't say that either but I hear it is just of the many thiing people come up with to scare people when some like that occurs. I hear tictoc is full of dire prediction and this is just one of them. I don't expect anything. When something really happens we usually don't hear about it ahead of time. I appreciate the review.

People are anxiousabout everything these days. In point of fact, there is no point in worrying about what MIGHT happen in the future. But speaking of earthquakes we aren't in any direct earthquake zone, but had a medium quake just recently in areas just a few kilometres from us. Many thought something had ploughed into their home. It was totally unexpected, but fortunately no significant damage was done.

Thank you Wendy. I was told the media sites are buzzing with warning about the Eclipse. I'm not worried about it, I was just trying to point out any time something unusual is happening it brings out all these people with their doomsday predictions.

Yes I didn?t mean you were anxious, but some (other)people seem to jump on to conspiracy theories at the drop of a hat. We know who is really in control.

God told us in the Book of Revelation how the earth will end. That's not to say, though, that He can't strike with plagues or earthquakes anytime He feels we need it. The Old Testament is full of similar historical facts. Let's hope God is merciful towards us.

I wasn't planning on alarming anyone. I was just pointing out rumors are circulating again as they do when the fear mongers find anything to see if they can get people stired up. Every few weeks the world is scheduled to end, or some dramatic is about to happen seems. It's like crying wolf, no one will believe it when some real is will take place.

That being said, there is some science to establish there is a slight increase in the possibility of tectonic plates shifting. With the advent of the internet, this has "blown up" and a slight increase has expanded, for some to a forecast of doom.

Thank for the review, Karenina. My son told me about all the talk circulating on TikTok. I remember years ago some scientist thought he knew the exact day the New Madrid volocano would come to life again. People believed him and bought earthquake insurance. When it didn't happen he left town. I don't take this stuff seriously. I imagine if something really happens we'll be taken by surprise.

Thank you Bill, I thought it was pretty ridiculous too and I put this here to poke fun at the idea, but some scientific studies says it is possible because a full moon can trigger sciemic activity and the eclipse can destabilize the atmosphere. I think it would very unlikely to cause a big one.
