I enjoyed this poem and its important message. Time goes by too quickly so we should live each day to the fullest and follow our dreams before its too late. Nicely written. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for reviewing. Your complimentary comments are greatly appreciated. I also agree time has a habit of rushing by and we should enjoy every moment we have. Thanks again,
    Bob.

I don't know if it's you or your conscience writing these, but as long as they keep on coming. This is an excellent poem, full of very sage wisdom, everyone could stand to remember this.

I guess I can't answer that, conscience is often quiet loud in her expressions. Your words are appreciated and they deliver a great sense of belief in self and for that I thank you.

Hi Bob,
I think your timeless message, and that of your pastor's is well recounted here for those of us who may have forgotten what's important in life.
You sort of brought a bigger context that the original message of not waiting until you're dead to talk to God, and expanded it to mean don't wait until you're dead for other things, like family, as well.

Great advice, my friend,
Rhonda

I think most of us have at some stage forgotten the important things in our lives. Things like family are too often relegated to a minor status. Eventually however reality wisens us to the more important issues. Thanks for a great reply.

This is a well-crafted poem. This poem may send shivers up the spine. Your poem reads and flows well. The message in your poem is very good. Each line in this poem connects well with next. Good job.

There's an old cliche...When you're dead you're done. Once your dead, It's too late. When we're old and sickly, we think of all the things we wish we had done, or could still do. While the sun is still shinning bright in our life, we have a chance to be who we think God meant us to be. I love your inspirational message.

Inspirational never, my wife uses many of those letters when she describes me. Her word is irrational. I think I prefer your word.

I love how you emphasized "Don't wait 'till after you're dead" by repetition. This is a great poem with a great message and great rhymes. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Great, I think you misspelled the word. It should be grate, and that's probably where this poem should end. In the fire grate. Thank you for such a positive review.

Seems to me you should listen. Living to help others is far more fun and rewarding than living just for yourself. Giving your best in whatever you do is rewarding. The need to always get is exhausting.
Good writing. Here is a bad joke to brighten your day: What do you call someone who sleeps in their socks?.....Tiny :-) Karen

I agree we should listen, but I'm not that sure I'm a good listener. Love your joke, it's bad, sadly I have a thing for bad jokes. I think your joke is better than my poem. Then again I'm not so good at rating poetry.

Okay, Are all math puns bad?
Not all, but sum. What did the T-Rex say to the Veilopteraptor? Nothing, they are both extinct. :-) Karen

Ciao,

When we are young we think life is long and there is stacks of time ,so we focus on money , being successful and enjoying life.

The truth is Death has no qualms to come and take someone young.

So we must be ready young and old ,always.

Speaking to God should be something we do everyday day, reading his word also .

Our lives/actions should reflect our love and devotion for our Creator , our celestial Father all the time.

If God s word is our daily bread Death can never find us unprepared.

You've interpreted this poem exactly as I intended it. It was written somewhat tongue in cheek but with a warning to be prepared always. Thank you for interpreting it as it was intended.

Good poem and a wise saying running through. I think we all should take stock and take some action. If your conscience is penning your poems then let it flow. Take care and have a wonderful day.
Cheers

a powerful poem using traditional meter and rhyme schemes reflecting on the need to be ready to meet your creator because you never know when it is time to go. The preacher says you need to get right with the lord every day.

You are so right, you never know. This was actually written tongue-in-cheek and not intended as a lecture. Thank you for treating it as I wrote it.
