You're the expert in building up tension and pace in your stories, Doug! Your dialogue is excellent and credible and there's no mistaking that this anger and determination will now translate into violence at this rundown site they've now reached with high expectations. Let's hope they find Jenny unharmed. Great chapter. Well done! Debbie

You left us hanging here wondering about Jenny and how much trouble Greg is going to get himself into. We know a lot of trouble. I can't help but believe Jenny will be all right. She has to be. I can't wait until the next post.

Like many people, he thinks rules are always to be followed unless it pertains to him or his. Then, rules go out the window. This is good writing. Have a great week. Karen:-)

Very realistic look at how people think. Glad you picked up on that. You are so very wise!

I will let you star in my next story. Would you like to be a 1950's film noir detective? There will be comedy, there will be dead bodies. :-)

Good work. 'Get 'er done' mentality.
But once they search/storm the first cabin, won't the bad guys be alerted? Or are they depending on finding the truck?
Good luck with the story.

Wow! Lilith is something else, although society still churns them out, some rule whole countries, your stories are always hard, I guess it must come from association Douglas, where did you learn to write this well? Good job, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy! I was named after my Uncle Douglas, a published author in England. My grandmother and mom are also published. Hopefully something rubbed off.

You nearly lost me with the first exchange in the new chapter. Why society accepts the use of that four-letter word is mind-boggling. Is it a requirement to have something published? It surely must be a requirement for movies. Still, I stayed the course, and got past the sh.. hoping the story has the good guy winning.

It?s just how people talk now so if you want realism that is where you have to go. I watched a movie recently where a woman found her parents dead and the writer had her say "holy moly." It just wasn?t real. I also struggle with this as a Christian. You want realistic fiction but where to draw the line. Finally I came up in the USMC where it was a noun verb and adjective. Promise they aren?t all so bad.

I understand, and yet it can be changed.
As a ten-year vet myself, the word was used but not as acerbically, and for twenty years, I golfed a five-day weekend with twenty USMC aviators and it was rare to hear that word at the end of our time shared, quite different than the earlier years when booze, strip joints and foul tongues rued the day. Somehow, we grew out of it.

Aviators are officers and a cut above ground pounder enlisted grunts. Probably accounts for the language difference. Also foul language is a plethora on the reserves and in law enforcement. Regardless, I should have kept in mind my FS audience. You are not the only one who was bothered so I switched the F word to damn. I couldn?t quite go for. Golly. Ha. Good chat my friend. Appreciate your wisdom.

Can you imagine what our parents would have thought of films and such with the language of today? I recall having my mouth soaped for saying shucks.begins

Good gripping action, good tension. I could feel the urgency and frustration.

" I bet half the town of Wolf Bend lost their virginity out there. I know I did. Cabin #4."
Best line ever!

the print out shows it's black (printout)

grab the long guns and we'll go get your wife. (guns, and we'll...)

I did detect some discrimination against those that believe in aliens, however.

;-)

Nice job! Julie
