In my study of the fallen Angels through the lost book of Enoch and other books of the Bible, they fell by the lust of the eyes and pride. Lucifer was eaten up with it. What a wonderfully written poem about a subject nobody talks about. Best of luck with your writing!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Thanks for the excellent review and your words of support for my piece. It really is the pride in being able to turn your back on God and say to yourself that you can do it your way. And we all know how that turns out. estory

This poem is not only true of today but indeed included historical events in the past one only has to look at the marvelous things built in the past to see what will happen in our future if we continue on this me first pathway

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on the piece. There have been many empires that have come and gone. And we still haven't gotten very far, if you ask me. The technology enables crime on another level. But it is still the same old crimes. estory

Our world today is hidious. The leaders have become so corrupt, they don't care about their own people, only themselves. Greed took over, the more they get the more they want. It won't change. Your poem makes us look at ourself, take note of what we are, or are not doing to help our fellow human beings. The fact the majority of leaders around the world are also cruel, brutal people doesn't help. This was excellent, estory. I read the first one before coming straight over to read this. Well done! :)) Sandra xx

Thanks again for the sixer. I really didn't think much of this little part of this series, but once again I was surprised by the readers who seem to have liked it more than the first part. estory

estory: Firstly, I like your pen name:) You seem to have put some thought into changing it from yesteryear's pen. Now, on to your heady post...The protagonist(s) of your attentive write reminds me of 'Gabriel'.
So many similar ego traits, and of course, these same characteristics fit some of the worlds current and prominent figures: The ones that don't seem to miss a photo op when it presents itself...They also, like train wrecks, they drive slowly by auto crashes, and out of their mouth comes many promises every four years. Thanks for reminding us that they are present. I am sorry if I have miss the mark/purpose of your post. teafor2

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on the piece. I am writing here about angels turning their backs on God, but I see how the angels can also be a symbol of the many unsavory characters who call themselves the leaders of the world. They are certainly fallen angels too. estory

Hi estory, in my humble opinion you don't need to believe in a God or anything like that to be a honest, loyal and basically a good person. It's who you are that defines you. And we are certainly surrounded by evil and small people at this moment in time. They are dangerous, and why people want them to rule is beyond me. I really liked your well written poem. Ulla:)))

This second part goes a long way towards explaining the parlous state of the world today - the western world at any rate. You sum it up well in your final analysis: self love, gratification and pride

It's well-written. I like the gnashing teeth. I thought the original sin was fornication, without which, hello imaginary god, the human race would cease to exist. Julie L

Thanks for the excellent review and your support of the piece. The original sin was turning our backs on God, and making ourselves into gods. If we are gods, then we have made a mess of the world, in my opinion. estory

I've found the secret of loving others lies in the fact that I am loved, then perhaps I can love myself, at 41 I was going nowhere, my self worth was zylcho. When God came along, I was able to turn my back on my petty addictions that temporarily took away the pain, but still inflicted a hangover, that was the beginning and knowledge of God's wisdom, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on the piece. In many ways, we are all fallen angels. The trick is to get back up there. And that we can only do through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The journey is the transformation. And the purpose of life. estory

I am of the opinion that everyone should have the choice to believe in God or not, without feeling they are fallen or that they will suffer consequences. Even Godly people can be greedy, corrupt and lonely. A poignant post, love Dolly x x

Everyone has a choice to believe or not, but it is a choice between light and dark. Every one is a fallen angel, and eveyone has a chance to be redeemed. I've learned my lesson. The hard way. estory
