This is a well rhymed and metered poem that tells the sad story that some have to mask their pain with humor. This is probably true of those with depression or have been abuse victims. I does end with a little hope that in the end their will be justice and true happiness,

This is an excellent poem. Some people laugh at others and some witj others. The joke is on those who laugh at others to hyrt them.
It's true that one may laugh even during grief. My family has done thar. What better way to celebrate the life of a joyful soul than to laugh?

This seems like the story of a mask, that through time becomes more grotesque and brittle, unnatural. Very interesting imagery throughout. I think it is a very accurate observation of human nature in general. Thanks for sharing! Julie
