Hi Sherry,
This is a well done 3-6-9 poem. I think it mirrors most people's hope for Spring to return once Winter starts in earnest. It reminds us of all the work that is happening unseen to bring the beauty of Spring back. I think each area has their flower that is their proof for Spring's arrival.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Hope it did well in the contest.
Merry Christmas
Joan

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I enjoyed reading. I could feel the seeds waking up and growing to produce beautiful Blue Bonnets. They are gorgeous. Good luck with the contest.

Are they out already? I live in San Antonio, but haven't been on the highway, lately, so haven't seen any. There are usually beautiful stretches of them off 410 going to Austin.
I remember when people would sit their babies in a patch of Blue Bonnets to take pictures of them. There should be signs posted about the dangers of rattlers in them, or on TV.
They are beautiful, and your poem is lovely.

Oh no - not yet. I'm just missing them already. I used to live between Austin and Lockhart and we had a whole field of them about 2 minutes from our front door. Always got some great pictures of my foster dogs in that patch of them. I'm glad you took the time to read my poem, Katharine, and am glad you enjoyed it. Have a great week.

This is a well written poem. Your first line opens the poem well. Each stanza connects with the others well. Your 3-6-9 syllable count is in good order. The picture compliments the picture nicely. Good job.

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my poem. It is almost time for them to bloom again, but I miss them most this time of year.

So beautiful! If I could drive my wheelchair from Florida to Texas, I would do it in an instant! I love God's little harbingers of Spring that motivate us to the season of love and rebirth.
