Interesting read, but a fair number of spelling, grammar, and punctuation fixes are needed -- I understand English is not your first language however, so I will do my best to help out since it is a contest entry.

"What can I get you? Would you like tea or coffee?" you already know the drill. And the only travelling you get is from your airport to the hotel and back.
Capital letter on "You" (after dialogue)
-- traveling, one "l"

I choose the records field(;) more boring, but very "rewarding"(.) For me with my crazy (lifestyle), the "money" is >(anything) everything goes because I need them for my trips. ... because I need (it)... Also, the tense of "choose" -- should be "chose"

You know(;) (') help a fellow guide in need (') kind of thing!

...a traveling/writing career << no "s"

Good luck in the contest, Iza. :)

Told with the usual wit and humor. The grass is always greener on the other side of the road. Many of these jobs seem like better bets, but each one has a draw back. I guess I wouldn't have minded the library stint. Monday Friday, during the day hours mostly, quiet work environment. But I didn't have the right degree. Maybe a literature teacher. That was my calling. But in the end, your story is the articulation of the great truth that life is an adventure. estory

It sounds as though you have a very diverse set of skills, and having a variety of languages in particular is a very valuable commodity. Thanks for the share and good luck for the contest.

Wow! You have certainly been around, Iza. One might think with all your language knowledge you would do well at the UN. I have enough language intelligence to be a good street person who talks to himself.

Color me impressed! I have a little spanish and that is it. I wanted to travel but never got the chance. I traveled watching documentaries. We make plans and then life happens. You wrote your story well. Have a good weekend. Karen

Very humorous (but also serious) reflections on your life and aspirations. With several languages it sounds likeyou would make an excellent tour guide. never give up. Carve out your own niche.

This is an interesting article. You seem to have tried more than a few careers and more or less liked them all. Knowing several languages is certainly a plus in your life. How many languages do you speak? I have just retired from being a children's tour guide in a museum. That might be something you want to try.

Necessary nice written story that you have presented us with and I enjoyed listening to it very much. Your presentation is good and your grammar and sentence structure is great. I wish you the very best and have a good day. Patricia.

Wow, Iza, I'm so envious of your linguistic skills, being able to master all those languages! That was definitely the start of a career for you and who knows who might have head-hunted you for something bigger and grander! Small edit: And I also could've got enough information (a redundant 'I' in there). An enjoyable read! Good luck! Debbie

This was very interesting to read. I thought it sounded a little bit like me in college, too. Love reading, love the literature, didn't necessarily want to teach but am now substitute teaching.
Here is a great sentence: I had a dream and came so close to making it happen.
I thought it was funny that you said a glass of mojito made you: "fluid" in ... French!
